The FA felt that Matic's "push on Mr Barnes was of sufficient force to cause Mr Barnes to fall, it was to the shoulders of Mr Barnes and was very unlikely to, and did not, cause injury."
Due to that they felt a 3 match ban was excessive.
didn't Walter Boyd once get sent off for Swansea after coming on as a sub while the ball was out for a throw in before the game had actually restarted?
Whilst agree it was a waste of time, i presume it cost very little or nothing to appeal ?
because Mcclure would not be in our stating line up, and doubt would be even if Hayes got injured, possibly might get the nod if Fred was injured.
I feel for the lad. He's not had the rub of the green this season when the team generally has had more than their fair share. Unfortunately I think his days are now numbered.
Peter Taylor was very sound at managing these appeals. He made the point that he would ask the ref what the sending off was for, then compare that account to the video. So, in this instance, if the ref said, "He swung his arm and caught him in the face with his elbow", then it might be worth an appeal. If, "he jumped in recklessly and led with his arm", then probably not.
I feel sorry for McClure- I think he's better than both Craig and Holloway but hasn't been able to get a good run this season. Also still completely disagree with the red card, it was so innocuous and stuff like that happens all the time in football matches.
Yes indeed. If he'd been in charge at Adams Park for the Stevenage game and applied the same criteria how many of their players would Mark Heywood have sent off ?!

Maybe Matty will become a record breaking striker after all. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/fastest-red-card-ever-watch-5277827#rlabs=4

Just found this, thus proving the Mirror wrong with one swift Google search. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2009/jan/07/1
Keith Gillespie was also sent off before the game was restarted after coming on as a sub.
That Todd sending off is genius!
Yeah, the Todd one had me laughing.
The appeal's been rejected per the official twitter. So there's that.
The FA reject Wycombes appeal, Matt will now serve 3 match ban.

waste.of.time. (and hopefully not too much money)
More money down the drain defending an unwinnable case.

Harsh i think. I thought they would overturn it but gutted for matty i do rate him
if any player in our small squad had to receive a 3 match ban I'd have to say McFlurry is one of the most expendable
what an utterly dismal post
Matt McClure has scored the same amount of goals as Paul Hayes from open play this season. Give the lad a break.
How many has he created compared with Paul Hayes?
Holloway may cause more problems, but I prefer MM to Steven Craig.
