Vintage Oxford City clip, when they and not the PNL were the city's 'Top dogs'.

Never had the fortune of visiting The White house ground, but looks to have
far more character than the PNL's Manor ground or The Stade de 3 sides.

  • That takes me back. The City were our rivals in those days.
The Wanderers had some great matches with Pegasus. I remember a home tie ending in a draw thanks to some amazing saves by Mike Pinner their goalkeeper at the time. The replay was at Iffley Road with us standing behind a rope. Jackie Tomlin scored the winner just in time

  • First away match I went to was at The White House Ground ,an Amateur Cup Tie in the late 60s that we lost 3-2. I also remember getting a draw there in 71 to win the league for the first time in-14 years and winning 8 nil there in few years later. An unusual ground with three very different seating areas.Non league grounds were certainly varied and unique in those days and had a charm that has been largely lost.
