I thought I'd try and take my mind off villa....who would you say have been our best keepers, defenders, midfielders and strikers have bin from the last 25 years??
Martin Taylor without a doubt, Glyn Creaser, Jason Cousins, Dave Carroll, Keith Ryan,Steve MCGavin ( for his creativity ) Brownie Jocky and Andy Rammel a perfect no. 9.
I'd add Terry Evans and Keith Scott to potential. I also have to include Simon Garner who may have been beyond his best when he came to us but was still a class above. But Guppy and Jesus would be shoe-ins for me along with Martin Taylor. Of the current crop I'd say Sido and JJ aren't far away and Paul Hayes for the reason MBS included McGavin.
@MightyWanderer .....essandoh? One of the greatest moments yes, greatest players....no sorry I can't agree as except for the header he was very average.
For me Gups, Jesus, Cousins (just for the excitement value!) and from more recent history I'd throw Mawson in there for sheer impact value in the short time he was here.
Other honourable mentions
Westy
Garner
Russell Martin
Simon Garner
Mickey bell
Paul McCarthy
Easter
Etc etc
@Ozzie_the_Relaxed Yeah just thought id chuck him in there for a laugh. In fairness Easter, the other provider of our greatest cup run moments was a decent player too.
