Exeter City getting frustrated with TV delay

It seems we are not the only ones becoming frustrated with the delay in announcing which replays are going to be shown live on TV.

Also, there are some interesting figures on the possible income from their replay at Anfield.

  • To be honest its ridiculous....still at least bbc have a real fa cup game or is it premiership reserves

  • well thats a load of crap, the replay fee is 67,500 so where the hell do they get 250k from.

  • The express and echo has much the same reputation for accuracy as the bfp and other local papers these days.

    the figures seem wrong

    1) the replay fee for each clubs is £72k not £250k
    2) gate fees assume a sell out, which it may well not be. Even then by my maths at prices being charged, revenue looks more like £650k than £750k at prices being charged for the game. from that must be deducted VAT and expenses before \Exeter get there share. Exeter share even at sell out likely to be more like £250k than £350k.
    3) article assumes add-ons of £100k - hard to see what this is supposed to be for - if its merchandise unlikely to be more than a few grand.

overall then instead of 700k, I make it more like about half that. still nice at this level though.

It seems the delay may be caused by Liverpool refusing to move the date of their replay with Exeter City due to the proximity with their Premier League matches both before and after. BTSport may well be digging their heels in and insisting that the game is moved to Tuesday evening so they can show it live. The consequence being that our replay at Aston Villa would not be shown live.

Also, the same source mentions a replay fee of £62k

  • this is getting to be a disgraceful situation.

Weds 1715 and supporters facing a round trip of several hundred miles still don't know whether the game will be played next week on Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday.

    Not good enough, FA.

  • This is why that fella at Leeds had a point (despite being a total arse as well). TV companies only want attendees for atmosphere - other than that, they couldn't care less.

  • Liverpool v Exeter has now been confirmed by both clubs for next Weds 20th, so they definitely aren't showing it. Surely BT will have to announce their back up for the Tuesday now...

  • Bristol City I reckon.

  • BT are showing Exeter again swell, what a cheek !!
