Play Lynch on Saturday, together with the likes of kretch and hollway up front, mcginn and the brentford loanee lad and rowe. Rest as many as we can for the Villa game and lets give it a right good go there.

@MBS; Again are you advocating these are our weakest players, Lynch, Kretch, Holloway, McGinn, Rowe and Udumaga ? these guys unfortunately are limited to being fully match fit with 20 minutes here and maybe 70 mins there and a few less time than that.
Imagine how Thompson (who has had the lion share of starts and a token benching moments) would fair if AAH and Kretch had a fortuitous run of games and scored a few and Thompson was benched in the same manner with a few 10-20 minutes appearances and then maybe 70 minutes. I bet he too would be bloody Murphy'ed about it.
I think what is being spoken about is resting players with plenty of minutes in their legs and building up the match sharpness of those who haven't. Didn't see any mention of ability at all. I think, as seems to happen quite often now, @Ciderk1d is getting a bit aggresive after reading something in to something that has not actually been said.
It's an interesting argument about the importance of the next two games. Personally I think the league game needs to be won but having got the prime 4th round cup draw there is a financial (yes I know and I hate it) argument for priotitising the cup replay next week.
It will be an interesting couple of team selections. I do though think that as good as Alex Lynch was on Saturday Matt Ingram must be bought back in to the team.
We need to take each game as they come and try and win them all. I would love us to beat Villa but not at the expense of treating league games as not important. We could actually be back at Wembley at the end of this season or even auto promotion. Another trip to Wembley would be another big payday.
I would imagine GA can see the benefits in fielding a strong team for both games...the Villa game may be our last in the Cup or the start of another dream, but a win at 'Pools is also important to maintain league momentum should lose out on the City bonanza.
It's an interesting argument about the importance of the next two games, shall those who played well, keep their shirt, go with best side or rotation ? unperturbed, c'mon give us clue.
Pathetic post. He's played 4 massive games, 2 play off semi finals, a
Wembley final and a 3rd round game against premier league opposition, and we've not lost any of them

God no, little Lynchy is a total liability. Any shot on target, and not directly at him, is going to go in.
He inspires zero confidence in the defence, has bad positioning and typically freezes when a shot is taken.
We need to bring in another backup keeper on loan or for peanuts wages.
How is he a liability?he hasnt made a mistake yet kicks well an looks confident and at 187cm tall is hardly little!!! Mark bunn was shorter an is on 25 k a week!!!
eric_plant, actually, we lost the final in case you forgot. And it's due to the defence working triple-overdrive and not leaving any balls they'd normally leave for Matt, coupled with lack of attacking threat from the oppo, that we haven't been totally humiliated with Lynchy between the sticks.

Lost on pens !!! So your saying that the defence are actually working harder wen lynch is in goal? So not workin as hard when ingrams in goal??wow quite a statement that is lol so your saying you want a big keeper who makes no mistakes and for peanuts money haha you gotta be a troll man!!!
Blimey @Ciderk1d you really do get a bee in your bonnet about this player or that player being in the team or on the bench. It's a recurring theme throughout your posts - thing is I can't quite work out where you stand. Do you expect everyone to be given equal game time, those in possession of the jersey to be in the team until a loss of form, or the 'best' 11 players to be picked regardless?

Did he keep you out of the school team? Or cop off with your sister? Irrational stuff.
As I recall Master Lynch saved one of the penalties in the Final. I think he did okay on Saturday, did not notice the defence being too nervous about him, I doubt Matty would have saved the goal or been hugely much better...and his kicking seemed to me to be more productive than some of the recent hoofing from the six yard box. At the end of the day, he is the Number Two who was forced to play and did a decent job.
Comments
No
lets wait and see then, he deserves to keep his place in my opinion.
Even he has said it's unlikely. Ingram will start if fit and not suspended.
Thought AL did OK Saturday, would prefer to see MI back v Villa just so Matty can get at least one big game under his belt......

I wonder if he will rest anybody, no way will Hayes be risked.
Are you saying these are our weakest players?
No Ingram should play both against Hartlepool and Villa he's our number one after all even Lynch knows and seems to respect that.

Awful stuff, you should be rightly vilified

Lynch a liability no way he's done well when needed, absolutely given 100 percent.
