Brilliant Trophy draws for Chesham United & Oxford City
The 2nd Round draw was made today for the FA Trophy and Chesham United and Oxford City were both handed plum home ties.
Chesham have a replay on Tuesday after they gained a creditable 0-0 draw on Sunday v Torquay United at Plainmoor. The winners of the replay will host Wrexham in the 2nd Round on Saturday 16th January.
Meanwhile Oxford City have been drawn at home to Cheltemham Town which should ensure a 1,000+ crowd at Court Place Farm.
The most bizarre game of the 1st Round was on the Sussex coast as Eastbourne Borough took on Hemel Hempstead Town. Boro raced into a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes and that's how it remained until half-time. Whatever was said in the dressing room had the desired effect as the visitors stormed back with four unanswered goals to lead 4-3. But it was all in vain as Eastbourne then reversed the scoreline with four goals in the last 13 minutes to run out 7-4 winners. Amazing stuff!

And Banton scored one of Hemel's goals. Not our lad on loan again, is it?
Shame Chesham blew it as Torquay ran out 2-0 winners in the replay. So the two "local" teams in the Trophy 2nd Round are Oxford City at home to Cheltenham and Maidenhead United away to Woking.
I'll be there for the City/Cheltenham match as we're away at Hartlepool that day and City's ground is near enough round the corner from me. Should be a great atmosphere - the 1st round game v Ebbsfleet was excellent.
Interesting draw for Maidenhead as they played Woking (and won 3-0) in the FA Cup in October.
