"He hasn't drank for 20 yrs the old man but came in stinking of booze." Oh dear! I know we upset the oppo fans from time to time, but we seem to have pushed them over the edge this time.
Why is it that when our defenders out muscle the opposition forwards, the fans claim that their forwards are being fouled? Notice this every time we win. GA has learned that the central spine of the team has to be the powerhouse from which we can then hope to earn the right to play. That's lower league football!
We earned the right to play and kept it on the deck or hit the ball to feet and put the balls into the "corridors of uncertainty" (box), for our guys to challenge, do you like that one @micra, that's Beany's commentary quote from yesterday.
Fred's best ever performance for Wycombe ? He was awful when he came on, where he either fell over, mis controlled, passed to a yellow shirt, or kicked it straight off. It was a carbon copy performance of when he came on for us at home Park in the play offs.
Just a thought....but the Millwall reaction was that their players "weren't really up for it". Neither were the fans it seems - the attendance was only 50% of the figure when we were there last in the FA Cup in 2001. But when you start closing parts of the ground it transmits to both fans and players that this isn't the most important fixture. So although it might save a bit of money superficially the wider implications are that you're telling both fans and players that this game isn't a priority.
Wycombe's player and supporters were right up for this one, and that gave us the platform to put our stamp on the game. After some truly abysmal performances in the FA Cup in recent seasons, this one will get Chairboys and girls dreaming again.

Fred seemed to be under the impression that this was a wrestling match rather than a football match. Probably why he had little impact on the game.
Having been to Bristol on Tuesday though I have some sympathy with the Millwall supporters. But only a very small quantity.

Haha, that was a great read! Classy bunch those Millwall fans...
