It's really quite sad to think some fans are so conditioned to think money first before anything else.
The FA Cup used to be about experience, hope and sometimes glory. I actually think the prize money and increased TV element has tainted it.
You need money to pay the bills and therefore for a fan owned club without any sugar daddy, money is the number one priority. Unfortunately it is a fact of life now in any professional sport.
For me (old git) 3pm Saturday is perfect. Millwalls Den & New Den are the most intimidating grounds I have ever been to. But despite their fearsome reputation I will be there.
Given the split of the gate money we get, I can't imagine any TV money we'd get would massively exceed what we'll get from a larger Saturday gate anyway.
Little bit of fishy trivia. The biggest English fishing port in terms of value of catch is Brixham in devon. Plymouth is the biggest in terms of tonnes landed.
People tend to think of Grimsby as being a top fishing post but these days thats a bit of a red herring.

Not good for the club's finances with no TV money.

The tv fee for being the sole match is £72,000 per side.

Funnily enough the monday live match is at Grimsby, plenty of fresh fish available there.

And of course not forgetting that the football ground isn't in Grimsby in any case.
There has to be a catch
They caught a 440 pound halibut off Grimsby last month which outdoes a few red herrings!
