FA Cup prize money + TV money

Would somebody from WWFC just confirm please that Wycombe will receive £12,500 TV appearance money for the tie at Halifax and a further £18,000 should we progress to Round Two. It's not mega-money at this stage but certainly a very reasonable pay day coupled with the shared gate receipts (after Wycombe's travel expenses have been covered).

Why does someone from the club need to confirm things that are already in the public domain - a quick Google has come up with http://www.thefa.com/thefacup/more/prize-fund and http://www.thefa.com/thefacup/more/tv

  • Basically because I couldn't find the TV money fee. It's a bit of positive news for the club which needs to be broadcast to the wider fanbase. Why would the club NOT want to publicise something positive, especially as WWFC is a Trust-owned club.

  • Because some so called supporters on here want to get a share of any additional income by way of freebies, e.g subsidised/free away travel!

  • I'm not sure that we should be publicising money we may or may not make, either - i.e. the prize money. And besides, even if we did get it, it may well end up getting spent on sensible unglamorous stuff like debt repayment, whereas for some, if we're getting a windfall it should ALWAYS be spent on new players/loanees.
