It is my opinion that dropping him in this way so near to kick off was wrong and contributed to us losing the match .
It's my opinion that by turning up late, he disrespected the manager, club and all the fans and contributed to us playing really badly with his dreadful attitude.
And that statement's a pile of ill-informed bollocks too.

Do we know the reason he was late? How can you come on here and say it is his bad attitude without knowing reasons...
We all dream of a team of Aaron Pierre's, 100 per cent on the pitch. I take offence to you questioning his attitude without facts!
@arnos_grove I don't think I am any more of less informed than you . I think he should have been punished but not to the cost of the result which his absence likely contributed to . It is my opinion and I don't think you should brand it as "bollocks" . Show some class . The other thing is you are making a pretty big assumption that he was late due having a lack of respect rather than being delayed for example. He may have been very remorseful about his mistake. Maybe your lack of respect shown to my view , which suggests to me you are a disrespectful person means you automatically assume Pierre's intentions were disrespectful and that is the norm ? not everyone shows the lack of respect you apparently do my man .
@bourne70 Pierre was apparently very late for the important meeting. I have enough faith in Ainsworth to believe that if Pierre had a legitimate excuse for being late he would not have punished him so severely.
Fair play to you if you think this . Personally if I was late for a meeting and was made to sit in the naughty corner it would have a negative effect on my motivation and I would feel quite humiliated . I would expect a reprimand or even some sort of punishment but I would not expect to be treated like a child and for it to be talked about in a press conference . Yes Ainsworth did answer very directly to a direct question about it but when was the last time he did this . It is usually his tactic to use "smoke and mirrors"and I think on this he would have served moral better by continuing this tact . I appreciate what others are saying on this but this is my view .

Dear oh dear. Note to self. Do not use sarcasm on Gasroom.
@wycombelad, the point I tried to make is that @bourne70 is lecturing GA about man management while having barely any actual knowledge of the situation. I too have very little knowledge of it and came up with an equally sweeping statement that (in my opinion) is equally ridiculous.
I absolutely love Aaron Pierre - the most exciting signing we've had in years. However, I also respect GA's management of this situation. I'm sure Aaron himself will deal with it too.
@bourne70 - Unfortunately a fair number of footballers act like children and thus have to be treated as such! I don't however think this applies to Pierre by the way but more to the likes of Dean Morgan etc.
I know there are those who sing who post and look on here. It would do my heart good to see Aaron Pierre play well today and to see us win.
Whatever was the root cause of him not playing against Newport, both he and Gareth deserve our support today. Both are and have been excellent for the club.
I hope to join in a rousing chorus of "There's only one Pierre" before the game and I guess we could follow it with "There's only one Gareth Ainsworth".
@mooneyman . I think this is what why I would have handled things differently Pierre is the model pro , he is probably the biggest "warrior" in the team and the guy really cares about the club . Apart from this there is no question that his absence contributed to the loss . I just think it was the wrong form of punishment .
How do you know he 'really cares' about the club? Surely GA is in a better position to assess that? He works with him every day, sees his attitude in training, to meetings, timekeeping, etc. I don't think he has named and shamed before so maybe this was the straw that broke the camels back? He'd have understood the potential consequences as well as you or I so it's not a decision he'd have taken on a whim.
And I don't think it's without question that Pierre's absence contributed to the loss - we'd lost the last 3 games with him playing hadn't we?

Very fair point arnos and well stated. I apologise
