I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment at all. It certainly helps and is sadly forgotten by the new breed of 'entertain me first' supporters.
All I'm asking is that the term 'the 12th man' is not used to describe something that has needed little description since the early days of football. It's a 21st century marketing term to placate supporters so they forget about being treated like customers by those marketing types.
