The Great Ground Vote - Quarter Final 1
We are down to the last eight, and with these head to head matchups there will now be the benefit of additional photos inside the grounds.
Re: End of season thanks
Something very odd happens when I @ someone on my phone.
I guess I should just leave it alone.
But I always want to post a bit more.
Even on subjects about which I'm not sure.
Final MOTM Standings
Josh Scowen swept all three categories again, and was Player of the Season for a lot of us - I think a lot of people were just bored with the status quo.
Full excel file attached for anyone who likes that kind of thing.
JJ marked his final appearance with the most romantic outcome of all - a Man of the Match award on the Gasroom!

Re: 23 / 24 Season Attendance Prediction Competition
End of the Season - After the Charlton Home Game:
Very many congratulations indeed to @NewburyWanderer - Attendance Prediction Champion of the Season as well as already being crowned Score Prediction Champion of the Season - probably better than Manchester City, which takes a considerable amount of concentration and application.
Many congratulations to @Onlooker and @Will_i_ams who ran @NewburyWanderer very close so that the result was still in doubt until the figures were in for the last game of the season.
Congratulations to @Commoner and @micra who both climbed a place on the last day to reach fourth and fifth respectively. @micra deserves a mention for the fact that he feared relegation in the early part of 2024 and has produced a Bloomfield quality turnround. Also there was some style in reaching fifth in that it was achieved by exactly matching the overall score of @wwfcblue so that the two of them ended the season in fifth equal and @wwfcblue did not lose a place.
The top four all managed at least ten predictions closer than one hundred, a tremendous achievement.
Congratulations to @Shev, @ryan_w_kirkby2, @a40 and @DevC who made up the remainder of the top ten, @DevC by a single predicted person from @MindlessDrugHoover.
Congratulations to @robin, to myself and to @Erroll_Sims who all improved scores and gained places on the Leaderboard on the last day.
The top part of the Leaderboard has 20 Forecasters for the first time this season, because of the tie in 19th between @bookertease and @perfidious_albion.
Congratulations to everyone who made it to a best ten average of better than one hundred.
Congratulations and thanks to those who made a prediction for every game this season - @NewburyWanderer, @Shev (thanks for the comments too!), @DevC (thanks for the score prediction competition at which I was terrible but enjoyed tremendously), @Manboobs (thanks for the comments), @robin (thank you for the times you posted official attendances post match) and @Twizz (who deserves a special mention more of which in minute)
Mentions for @Wendoverman, @our_frank, @thecatwwfc, @SmiroludyBlue and @LDF who achieved their positions on relatively few predictions.
Congratulations indeed to @Alexo who had the single best predicition of the season of a total attendance with a spot on forecast for our home game against Peterborough - a rather hope you will be able to repeat that (and we can repeat the score next season).
Congratulations for consistency goes to @Twizz who has all 'best ten prediction scores' all in the narrow band between 67 and 130.
Finally thanks to everyone who has made a prediction, I have really enjoyed doing it and its been a lot of fun with the ingenuity of some of the numerical arrangements. Next season I will see if I can manage the smiley emoticons for up and down movements on the Leaderboard I promised much earlier in the season.
Later in the summer I also hope to manage to produce an 'All Time Leaderboard as @Shev once suggested.
Re: 23 / 24 Season Attendance Prediction Competition
After the Barnsley Away Game:
Many congratulations to @Will_i_ams who retakes the revolving lead at the top of the Leaderboard. As one of the three who recorded the third best score of the match - (34), @Will_i_ams doesn't quite have clear water from @Onlooker and @Forest_Blue who was also one of the three with (34).
There is now a bunch of three on the shoulder of @Will_i_ams, the period when @Onlooker and @Will_i_ams had the lead to themselves may have run its course.
Congratulations to @Wendoverman who had the second best score of the Barnsley game (21), his own best score of the season so far, and in consequence jumped from 10th to 6th in the table.
Further congratulations to @ryan_w_kirkby2, Forecaster of the Week for the Barnsley game (13 scored), and one who makes a leap from 16th to 9th on the Leaderboard. He also recorded a personal best of the season so far.
Congratulations finally to @mwite, the third of the trio scoring 34, the third of the trio recording a new personal best and one of only two to leap up the table by 5 or more places.
The closest parts of the table are now 8th (@DJWYC14) to 11th (@bookertease ) separated by around 50 tpp {total predicted people), plus 18th to 21st (@Manboobs to @micra) separated by around 30 tpp.
I reckon that everyone @A_Worboys and above is within reach of the top part of the table in a single game and nearly everyone could make that move within two games.
The Shrewsbury match is Game 19 so it will still be the nine best predictions that will count for each Forecaster. However this will be the final game for which this will be the case, from then onwards until the end of the season it will be the ten best which count and the competition should settle.
Happy predicting to all for the numbers watching us against Shrewsbury.
The brilliance of Josh Scowen
With one match still to go before the season's MOTM stats are complete, I thought I would change tack and show the overall stats from the three seasons I have been keeping track, specifically as an illustration of how good Josh Scowen has been.
There have been 51 players to gain at least 1 MOTM vote in the past three seasons, and below is everyone to have gained over 50 total votes.
This shows just how much Josh has led the pack, being the only player with 100 starts in that time, but also more than doubling the 2nd placed player in overall votes and doubling the MOTM awards too.
On a side note, this also acts as an illustration of just how good Chris Forino has been, and what a shame it is that he has only managed 57 starts across three seasons.
Finally, a nod to the two super subs, Bayo and Kone, who were both so good coming off the bench that they inflated their votes per start to 20.3 and 18 respectively in that time.
Re: Current squad statistics
Updating this now as I will be on vacation for the upcoming game and beyond (though I'll try to jump on my phone to do the MOTM poll).
Congratulations to Dale Taylor on his 50th appearance!
