Though i'd probably end up banning everyone, including myself, leaving just Wendo and his unique satire.

Dear @drcongo please make the Gasroom subscription only and keep it going. I am sure many of us will help if we can, as @Malone stated, I wouldn’t have a clue regarding the maintenance but would happily help where I can.
I do appreciate your position as some of the discussions a few weeks back were pretty stupid and a lot of us took a break from the agro. However, you have made the Gasroom into one of the very best fans forums in the UK (probably the very best) and I hope you can see a way forward with a select bunch of paying Gasroomers.

I was responding to this post as I don’t have time or inclination to wade through your relentless negativity. You suggest that there could be friction between the acting chairman and the head coach that he himself appointed and who has only been with us for a month. To support that opinion you suggest that Mike Dodds publicly criticised players signed by Dan Rice when he did no such thing. He said that the new arrivals (not just the Danes) had to earn their place in the team over the players who have been so successful up to now. What’s wrong with saying that? What would you have said if MD had promoted the new players at the expense of those who got us to second in the table?

We have two excellent centre backs here on loan. Who won’t be here next season.
We have two excellent midfielders here on loan. Who won’t be here next season.
We have signed potential replacements ahead of financial constraints for next season.
It’s not complicated. Nothing to see here. Move on.

This discussion needs to bear in mind that current rules on Championship spending and incoming rules on League One spending, both tying outlay to revenue made January the last window where the owner could pump cash directly in to the squad.

I can never work out if you're being deliberately obtuse or just incapable of critical thinking. I explained my views on the previous page. I would've hoped, as someone who proudly claims to have trained as a journalist, you might have been able to understand what I wrote.

The comments from the club, Dodds included, have been quite clear. They’re not match fit and have been brought in with more than this season in mind.
I’d suggest Berry’s absence is of more concern. His position is one in which we are struggling for consistency and Dodds has suggested that there are simply others ahead of him in the pecking order right now.
I’m assuming the signings we’ve made that included fees have been done so to avoid the tighter financial restrictions coming in from next season. Therefore, whilst frustrating now, it does make some sense.
That said, the true football fan in me would have much preferred two or three immediate starters to have come in and reignite our form, especially out wide.

I live in Essex having left the town at the age 22, so literally only come back for Wycombe games and to see my Mother so difficult for me. In fact, I’m around the corner from Hornchurch so was going to give the lowdown on the best watering holes on the Kashket sponsorship before he moved on.
Having said that, the Mad Squirrel is a great venue and me and my brother drink there often when I come to AP. The Rose and Crown does amazing Guinness, that was a ‘no go’ pub when I was a teenager!
Still never been to the Flint. Don’t know why, back in the day on my taxi ride to the Orchard always used to say we should stop there, never did. Guess Spoons always won for the pre-load for obvious reasons.
Incidentally, I went to Bombay Palace on Crendon Street after the Northampton game and it was absolutely beautiful food.

Like others have offered before, I’d happily chip in a few quid each month for any server costs and to keep ads at bay.
The Gasroom is 99% of the time an oasis in an online desert of anger and noise. I really hope that @drcongo will find his mojo and keep things as they are, but he’s been very generous running the site for many years and we all need a break from things from time to time.
