To be fair, the Old Firm dominance has always been there. That run of Dundee United, Aberdeen, Aberdeen in the 80s was the longest period of neither Celtic nor Rangers winning the title - ever.

When I look back to how I was when I was 18,19,20 and 21 and then if you were to sprinkle on top a mother that dies of cancer and living in the lime light of one of the top two football teams in your country, I would be more surprised if there aren’t rumours of your attitude being lacking at times. To echo a theme in Brian Jeeves post, let’s try and be understanding of the lad if he’s made a few questionable decisions, we don’t know what he was going through at the time and I rather suspect it’s more than most of us will ever know.

I do wonder how much the 'character test' limited us in terms of signings in the past. There's still a threshold, and I'd hope we wouldn't sign someone like a Mason Greenwood, for example, but I'm glad we're being less selective.
