Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Yes, whether he was in the UK for COVID restriction reasons, visa problems, or love of the club, we can't be sure but he did stay that whole time barely seeing his family
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
It did allow me to monitor you from afar and decide if any of the fans you were chatting to were on the swerve list.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Matt Bloomfield will be among the guests at a BBC3R live phone-in between 1800 and 1900 tonight. Link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c863q3xgel6t
Re: Rumour Mill
Yeah, I meant at a playing level, sorry. They can be extremely long 'behind the scenes'.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
He was at the Cambridge game in person this season, too, well after ownership had changed.
He also made a comment implying he reads the Gasroom, which as we all know puts you in the 1% of the most nuanced, well-read, and pun-skilled Wycombe fans!
Re: Rumour Mill
The next day: "After a long and thorough search we are hiring the Danish bloke from Brentford to be our manager - and no, we don't know why the date on his Guest Pass lanyard says August 2024."
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
I don’t think he’s bought a season ticket or anything, but he seemed the most emotionally invested. He certainly had a good time.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
For me the clubs culture changed as soon as we stopped being owned by us & we sold out to "an owner".
We have experienced good, bad & indifferent (& possibly ugly) owners before & sadly will do again as that seems to be the way in modern football.
Do not be fooled by the quaint southern charm of the Couhigs, they were just as ruthless business people as Lomtadze etc. the only difference was the number of commas in their respective net worth. Lomtadze & Vishnyakov have never presented themselves as anything other than hard nosed business people so why are some surprised when they behave exactly that way?
As for Rice, he is their football poodle/bitch, who I suspect has very clear targets that he is absolutely expected to deliver against or lose his job. He is also one of those deeply underwhelming, charmless, endlessly bland & self-conciously corporate late 30 somethings that I invariably instantly detested when I met them in the City; always seem impressive on their CVs but always appear so much less in person.
I equally suspect that 90+% of Wycombe fans will forget all the "hurt" if the club win promotion this year and especially if by 2030ish are an established Championship club delivering record profits from the Academy.
Of course for each of you YMMV & I may well know nothing & be talking out my arse again...
