Re: Man of the Match - Northampton (H)
i thought he was excellent, the pick of our starting eleven. Great to see him back.
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
Completely agree. I'd be very surprised if anyone genuinely believes that's anything other than 2 points dropped.
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
It's by far the latter. No harm done in one way but we've ticked off a relatively easy game while Wrexham have ticked off one of their hardest, and Huddersfield also a tricky game against a revitalised Bolton.
If that team selection was with any idea that today was the "easier" of the 2 back to back games, its backfired.
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
Yep, with all due respect to the lad I can't imagine many right thinking Wycombe fans think he's any sort of centre forward option for a team top end league 1.
Maybe a wide left squad player, but definitely not central.
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
Toys and pram come to mind.
Forenote - Lucky to get a soft ‘handball’ (?) for the disallowed goal. Tzanaev (Goalkeeper) and Willis (ex-Wycombe) were outstanding for them. Not surprised in the slightest by Willis, as he was excellent in his short spell for us.
The bad - Strange line up. Was it arrogant? Does Kone need his minutes managed? Are we trying to slow down his profile growth to reduce transfer interest? Kodua, bless him, is not a League 1 right back. Lubala had a nightmare yet lasted 75+ mins. Harvie injury is bad news. Leahy is pants in midfield. All a bit silly. Bakinson would’ve suited today better than Leahy, but got no minutes. My biggest criticism is that we look like we did just before Mehmeti went to Bristol City this time two years ago - out of ideas and way too reliant on one player (Richard Kone).
The good - New signings still to come. We’re already in the market for a right back. Still got a manager to appoint. Results all went our way, so we’re in a fantastic position. Joe Low is back. Kone is fairly likely to stay this window.
Bad day at the office. Could’ve been 1 down. Could’ve been 2 up (if Tzanaev didn’t have a blinder). Not hugely concerned by today. Struck me as an off day. If we win on Tuesday (which we have clearly prioritised based on the team selection) then all will be forgotten.
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
If today has taught us anything, it's that Hanlan is miles off the standard required to play up front for us moving forwards, and that Lubala is probably likely to be bombed out by Berry once he's ready.
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
Apart from the game’s two best chances which were perfect! (Low first half, Fred second).
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
This narrative that Matt Bloomfield wasn't fucked over by Dan Rice is getting old and tiresome.
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
This lad is promising. If only we had known before the game - he would have been worth a start!
