Caught up with a QPR supporting colleague for the first time in a couple of months who is good friends with Gareth.

Apparently we were paying GA about 250k towards the end, QPR then offered him 650k, which continued to be paid for the full 2.5 years after he was sacked (hence why he didn’t rush for something else).

It’s probably reasonable to assume that Rob paid Bloomfield something similar to GA.

Bearing in mind QPR were desperately trying to hit their 3 year FFP cycle after 2 years of massive losses (and Luton are in the 1st year of a 3 year parachute payment period), it’s probably safe to assume Luton offered Matt even more than QPR offered GA (plus a 3.5 year deal).

So arguably we could have pushed more to try and keep him, but unlikely we were going to match Luton.
