Re: Match Day Thread: Bristol Rovers
Does every social media post criticising attacks on Israeli civilians have to be caveated like that?
Re: Attendance Prediction - Wigan Athletic (h) - Sat 22nd Feb '25 - Match 32 in 24/25
25 predictions in at (late-ish) breakfast time on Match Day
We say
Reminders, which may be useful, out there for -
@a40 @BSE @Commoner @DevC @micra @perfidious_albion @PJS @robin @ryan_w_kirkby2 @Shev @wwfcblue @our_frank and @Cecil @Beechrdswan @BicesterB and @Ed_ .
I know many of those above can be Match Day predictors, this is probably my last chance to do a reminder before the 2pm deadline. Today we set off early - after weeks and weeks of no trains south of Cambridge on a Saturday because a new station shuts the line, today there is no easy road east because building a new road is obliterating the old road for the weekend.
Happy Forecasting All and Come on you Blues!
Re: Match Day Thread: Bristol Rovers
I know @bargepole . Amusing as it was. Actually with quite a lot of central fixed costs , the average store contributes a fair bit more than the figure you suggested.
The sheer scale of the Supermarket industry is often not appreciated.
Tesco , Sainsbury and Morrisons sales in the UK total as much as the total State spend on education and that’s before you add in Asda, Lidl, Aldi, M&S Waitrose and online Ocado.
Of every £10 spent in all UK shops, roughly £1.20 is spent in Tesco alone.
if any new stadium is built in the HW area, it will almost certainly be alongside the M40 and with much bigger capacity than AP. Obvious issues are green belt and sheer cost and with the crisis in the leisure industry , it would be much harder now to “pay for” the stadium by value created by a surrounding leisure park.

Re: Other Football
I continue to find it baffling that Steve Cooper is hated so much by Leicester fans,
Re: Match Day Thread: Bristol Rovers
I think they take the view, rightly or wrongly, that anything involving a sports club only benefits a small proportion of Council Tax payers, whereas the Council's remit is to make decisions which benefit the majority of the local poulation.
Short sighted I know, but that's how it is.
Re: Match Day Thread: Bristol Rovers
I've told you all, the future is near Denham Golf Course. A bit out of town but ticks all the other boxes.
(y'all, if any young person is somehow reading this)
Re: The definitive ex-player news thread
Many Bristol City fans think they'll lose him to the Prem in the summer (assuming they don't go up themselves). They seem to have him tabbed at a value of 8-11 million (quite an oddly specific range).
