Re: The manager post Matty Bloomfield?
Coming from the Saudi league so he's a man of high principle.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Sad times. Good Luck Matt at Luton.
Can dream of a GA, Dobbo, MB evening in the ground in 10 years time reminiscing over times long past.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
The major difference is that the Couhigs didn't come in and tell the playing staff how to do their jobs, or fire any of the backroom staff recruited by the incumbent manager. Rob Couhig also went out of his way to praise the job the manager was doing, and paid them the most basic courtesy of namechecking them in interviews. It is of course the prerogative of any owner to do so, though it is also the prerogative of everyone else at the club to make a judgement as to whether this is a positive development or not.
At this stage we don't know what the next steps are and whether these will bring success on the pitch for Wycombe Wanderers Football Club, though what we do know is that how the new ownership group have acted doesn't augur well for our club's proud record on fostering a fair, constructive and positive working atmosphere that we could be proud of by association as fans.
Re: The manager post Matty Bloomfield?
Is it odd that none of the players have posted any congratulations (or anything at all?!) about Bloomfield leaving. Grimmer posted good luck note to Jmac, but nothing for Blooms feels like the players have been told to not communicate?
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
I wouldn't say Luton (whilst a shithole) is on the down. I would say on paper Luton has more potential than us.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
I still can't believe some of the dislike for the Couhigs on here. They're not your most conventional football club owners for sure, but overall they were a huge net positive for WWFC. I personally think Pete is a very good man with a genuine enthusiasm for the club
Re: Other Football
Gaz's last game in charge was a win over the 1929 FA Cup winners
Blooms' last game in charge was a win over the 1939 FA Cup winners
Which means the next guy will bow out by beating the 1949 FA Cup winners: Wolves, in what will be the two WWFCs' first-ever PL meeting 🔮
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
The Couhig period was far, far better than most of the detractors would have it...and of course after several years they could say 'I told you several years ago he was just in it to sell at a profit...'
No-one thought he was a cuddly benefactor (as the years of posts criticial of him would attest) but he bought into the culture to a degree (or at least could fake it) and left us in a better position than he found us.
The worrying thing about the new people is we sort of have no real idea what their agenda is...but perhaps time will tell. we'll have a great few years and we'll end up even more worried when we become Musk SpaceX Wanderers.
