Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
When it comes round to citing his disloyalty to Colchester and the fact that Bloomfield was actually a ****, time to bow out.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
To be fair, if it were not for ITKs saying what they can about Dan Rice without betraying their sources, we might all be calling Matt Bloomfield a disloyal snake who was never a good manager anyway (see: Facebook).
If it is a choice of no-one saying anything and everyone blaming Blooms without context, or people who cannot betray sources saying what they can, which would you prefer, genuinely?
I know the ITK thing can be annoying (and is to a lot of people in this current scenario), but in this case I would say it is clearly all out of loyalty to Blooms, not wanting his name dragged through the mud unfairly. There is a lot of consistency with what is being said, and some major smoking guns along the way that everyone saw (Blooms brother's rant, unceremoniously sacking people around Blooms, etc.).
Nothing wrong with giving Dan Rice the benefit of the doubt if that is your perspective, but mocking people who may be genuinely upset/distraught at how a club legend has been treated doesn't really help.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
It’s a hobby and a sport for us but it’s a job for Matt. He’s gone to a supposed bigger club who have offered him lots more money and a 3.5 contract and it is nearer his home. Good luck to him if that is what he wanted.
We move on and I was personally devastated when MON left us but it didn’t stop me supporting our club and this departure certainly won’t.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Haven't heard or read everything but definitely in the opposite camp right now.
Firstly he owes us nothing, 20 years as a player, concussions and all, dumped Col U in seconds to come back here. After a tricky start he's grown the squad and taken us to the top of League One..and then had his mate sacked despite doing a good job and the vibes at least suggest he's had people working against him, picking players for signing and approaches against his wishes and cutting across what he's doing even though it's working.
Money ball type approaches are all good if you are short of money, doing badly or trying to be clever, I fear we have the latter.
Also let's be honest Luton are a horrible club in an even worse town and in a bit of a mess but the squad and resources are way above the position they are in. Hope he does well I suppose. No idea where we are going.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Are you deliberately ignoring the fact that he said the other night he wanted, and was involved in bringing Bradley to the club ?
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
So @Vincey you're suggesting that Matt should have opted to stay until the summer because that's better for us, but acknowledging it might have been not so good for him?
He's been loyal to Wycombe for 20 years but he has loyalties to his wife as family as well. I think it's perfectly correct he puts loyalty to his family above loyalty to a football club.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
You know what, you clueless, tin-foil hat wearing truthers, the fact that Matty has mentioned:
1) Being somewhere that wants him
2) Being somewhere that lets him make recruitment decisions
does all sound rather familiar...
Re: Jason McCarthy - Brighton u21s
Brighton is quite the place to get into the coaching side, too. I can only imagine he will make some fantastic contacts there!
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Just listened to the three counties interview and the more I think about it the less sympathy I’m starting to have for Bloomfield here.
Whether he likes it or not the game is changing, who is he to dictate club policy on transfers?
He’s ditched us at a crucial time in the season, if it wasn’t working for him he could have departed in the summer and he would have had job opportunities landing on his desk. Maybe not of the riches that Luton were offering but solid jobs.
