Indeed. I have unfollowed the group. Can't be bothered with it anymore. The usual whining about no respect and loyalty despite that same group trashing Matt whenever we hadn't won for a couple of games. Loyalty and respect is only ever a one-way street for them. I know that's hardly unique for football fans. Every club has some like these, but I have run out of patience with ours.

He clearly enjoyed recruitment. And this function was taken away from him at Wycombe. We are undergoing a massive recruitment programme at the moment across the academy and off the field. The owners and management group had a different recruitment structure in mind to what Matt wanted. He didn’t like it. He left to join a club that allowed him more input. What did I miss? I would have preferred him to slot in as he’s a great guy. But he felt he couldn’t and that’s cool too.

Haven't seen any players making comments yet. Although my reach on socials doesn’t go much beyond the Highways Agency these days

The owners could have also got rid in the summer if he wasn’t “their man”. Perhaps it took until now for things to get bad enough he felt the need to move on, I guess we’ll never know. Good luck to Matt, I hope he does well and let’s be honest we could be in for an exciting end to the season ourselves. We are being linked with by our standards some high profile names.

Being involved in transfers and player recruitment is far more nuanced that “The owners will try to sign anyone I ask for without question” or “I have to play who I’m told”. It may be Matt wanted the former and Rob gave him that and Luton will again and the Ricicles were more inclined to suggest the data indicated certain needs and they and Matt could not agree in more cases than either party could live with. Sonny may have been a good fit for both. Smiles all round. Danish lads less so. Or maybe the Ricicles are hellspawn?
