Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Could be a very short term job for Matt. Luton’s primary reason for changing manager is to avoid relegation. He will have virtually no grace period to get his feet under the table, he’ll have to hit the ground running. If the squad don’t buy into his methods, the board will hit the panic button again. Best of luck to the boy.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
A 100k release clause in his contract would suggest they've put out a massive neon sign saying "COME GET HIM PLEASE". I think the chance that Rice would like him to stay is as close to zero as possible. If this fucks up our season, it's on him.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
We are all assuming that the new owners and management are the ones edging MB to the door. Could be that Dan is clutching Matt's leg as he drags it out the building.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
I feel the last part of the GA culture is leaving the building today.
We’ve had a decade of dignity, respect for officials, other teams and have held our heads high. I don’t want to be another moaning club blaming players, officials etc.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
What tempted you to come to Wycombe?
”Yes I’ve always wanted to do the process in England”
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
To be fair, most managers back themselves, and Luton are also massively underperforming their (ducks) expected points (12th), much like Coventry, which I saw as a great job for the same reason. They need galvanizing, not wholesale changes, to get back up there.
QPR was a much worse spot, as they had a terrible squad of demotivated players who did not suit Ainsworth's preferred style - he was in the position of trying to stage a rock concert with depressed ballerinas, basically.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
I will now look for the Danish words for "the process", "alignment", "synergy" and "outcomes", as I really want to be able to understand the first interview.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
No doubt there is a manager lined up in guessing we will never know the truth of what has happened behind closed doors. Should Bloomfield swallow his pride and accept data driven signings are happening and just stick with it . My worry is he will be sacked in 6 months at Luton , he has had a lot of money compared to Gaz to be able to have the squad we have. So not sure Luton is the answer for him and the pressure that will come with it, yes we play good football but again is the style of play also dictated behind the scenes .
