Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
Bishop looked solid. Made one routine save of a shot I think was going wide. Kicking a bit hit and miss (as most keepers at our level is). Not sure it was a performance that deserves being rewarded. Rav has largely been excellent this season, has been a key part of our success and deserves to hold on to his spot. I'm certain Rav knows there's real competition and doesn't need to be dropped to make him aware of this. Happy to to let Blooms decides who our number one is.
Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
Portsmouth played like most of the teams against us in the first half of the season - with complacency, under estimating us, thinking they could pass it through us and eventually Little Wycombe would fold. As with most teams in the first half of the season, they soon discovered it wouldn't be that easy.
But I don't think we should get too much false hope from last night. Teams in the league have figured out how to counter us - by harrying, closing down and winning the midfield battle, preventing us from moving it through the thirds.
In order to get back to promotion form we still need to work out how to counter that. I think there was a big clue last night though, in the form of Matt Butcher. Yes, playing him alongside Scowen and Humphreys sacrifices that quarterback passing we've all been purring about. But it gives us a lot more bite and safety-first forward movement. We've started losing possession too easily with Leahy and Bakinson in the midfield. Butcher may once again be the player that turns round our disappointing form, just like he did this time last year.

I liked Moushino as a player for us...not so much when he was an opponent but that's the game innit? (not unlike O'Nien) Agree that game will not suddenly ignite our league form but momentum and confidence is a good thing. I assume @Konetheming was round at trevor's last night.🙂
Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
9 changes but still a team full of players we would love to have.
Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
then on top of this i think need to recruit a havoc maker, someone very tricky who can beat 2 or 3 men
Re: Sonny Bradley signs
It reminds me a little of the days we had Johnson and Williamson which looks looked a cheat code, but back then there was a feel we needed an experienced brute to support them. We brought Nethercott in.
Different circumstances but we're feeling more secure than we did last week.
Will be interesting to see what the Danish fella is like.
Re: Sonny Bradley signs
Maybe a bit old fashoned but I love defenders who play like there's nobody in goal
