Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
Good confidence booster to get a comfortable home win after a few average results. Same goes for Hanlan and Bradley scoring. Fringe players and those building fitness/confidence are an important part for the squad. Really good to see them contribute positively when they are involved.
Bradley, Skura and Butch were all really solid and dealt with Pompey's attacking players easily. Although in fairness, the opposition offered virtually nothing so I'm not going to get too carried away there.
Bakinson to my mind was still fairly disappointing. I can't really see what he's bringing to the midfield at all.
Would like to see Kodua given a start on the wing. He's done really well in recent games but need to see if he can perform the real key job as a winger and consistently beat a full back over the course of a game.
Excellent work from the drummer tonight. An upbeat atmosphere behind the goal. More of the same please.
Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
He looks and sounds like a man in total command now. Long may it continue.
Re: FA Cup Man of the Match - Portsmouth (H)
The only problem with Skura for me, was his heading which seemed to go anywhere but he looked strong, lively and tried to be Joe Low bringing it out a couple of times.
Re: FA Cup Man of the Match - Portsmouth (H)
Kodua for me...but a close one with Bradley. if Matt wanted him or not Bradley is an old school big, nasty centreback the like we've not seen much in the quarters before. I like him a lot.
Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
Very happy after a great performance. I have to say that Bradley & Skura were excellent in defence, didn't put a foot wrong and might need to take their strikers out of their pockets so they can go home and cry. Kodua looked comfortable and could def do a job as a make-shift rightback and we looked more comfortable with a back 4.
I wonder what happened to George, does anyone know?
Only player that I thought was disappointing was Bakinson, I felt nervous when he got the ball and seemed to give up posession too easily.
Re: Berks & Bucks Senior Cup 2024-25
The last time we went there Junior M missed a shoot out penalty to maintain his record as a striker of never scoring for The Chairboys.
But that was against Beaconsfield SCYOB (or something like that) so how come their badge claims 1921? Makes our ‘87 vs ‘84 debate look like small change.
Re: FA Cup Man of the Match - Portsmouth (H)
Skura for me, just ahead of Bradley and Kodua. So impressed with his development this year; he's not let anyone down at any point.
Re: FA Cup Man of the Match - Portsmouth (H)
I went for Skura, managed everything with ease tonight but I could have easily voted for Bradley too. Top work lads
Re: FA Cup Man of the Match - Portsmouth (H)
Sonny Bradley. Absolutely superb. What a signing.
And a great night for Brandon Hanlan too. And maybe I went too soon with writing him off…

The thing about cup runs is that you can't control when they happen - you have to just accept the gift.
