Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
Just returned to the room to see how well you boys and girls are behaving. My evening has been pleasant and certainly not ruined at this late hour by two basic spelling errors.
The past tense of the verb to lead is led. The past tense of the verb to read is read.. The confusion is therefore understandable.
When you’re defeated in a match you lose. You don’t loose it. I’m a Maidstonian by birth and upbringing and there is a village just outside the town called Loose but it’s pronounced lose (or it was 70 years ago).
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Schumacher lead Bolton to a loss in his first game today after they had recorded back to back wins ( just to back you up on your experienced manager view ). Rob Edwards got sacked from Watford , then took Luton to the premier league , got them relegated , the. Slid down. The championship table , the. Got sacked again 🤣 My problem with Mr Grace is that he seems far too nice and far too gentle to me . If you read what a lot of Sunderland fans have said , he struggled because the squad still referred to Dodds as Doddsy and not gaffer . There was an over familiarity and he was too matey with them . This would have made respect difficult . One would assume he has learned from that and with a fresh set of faces this should not be an issue.
Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
I think James Berry is carrying an ongoing hamstring injury.
Re: Rumour Mill
If Mike Dodds is coming in, you would suggest that would increase Nathan Bishop’s chances.
Re: Funniest chants
Many....but a team from Cornwall playing a team from Devon and the crowd singing 'You dirty Northern bastards' has stuck in the mind.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Some bookies have stopped taking bets so seems likely.
Good timing. FA Cup free hit at the weekend. Almost 2 weeks to settle in until the next game.
