Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
We will never know what our attendances might have been in the lost Championship season.
Obviously bigger clubs in the Championship means bigger away gates.
But personally I’m sceptical that the home gate would increase that much if we get back to the second tier.
I just feel like for the random floating punter, anything less than the EPL is not that appealing and is just bucketed as “lower league football”.
I have no basis for this other than pure supposition, but still.
Even for the less glamorous EPL teams, I remember (being London-based) the old ads in the Evening Standard for the likes of Charlton or Fulham, bigging up upcoming games against Arsenal, Liverpool or whoever.
Anyway, I hope I’m wrong.

Re: Match Day Thread: Preston (FA CUP)
I just watched the highlights and was surprised to see the Wanderers playing in red while the supporters were in
their normal colours. But then I noticed similar changes in other cup matches. Is this just an effort to sell more shirts?

Re: Random sightings of our players outside of football
I’m not having that, @bigred87. It’s not that long ago when you were struggling with some “issues” and it’s good to see you chipping in on a regular basis.
Like @Lloyd2084, I’d love to know what you said to amuse Ricky Gervais. But (a) you’ve probably forgotten and (b) it would no doubt fall on stony ground without the context.
I’d have been too nervous to do more than pass the time of day.

Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
That’s definitely part of it. I feel like our attendances would be at least 10% higher if AP was where LP WAS.

Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
It's because parking and access are an absolute nightmare. The football needs to be at a certain level to offset that inconvenience.
Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
Isn't there now an FA or EFL rule about clubs leaving their home town or city, to stop another MK situation?

Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
The only way to increase attendances is to get back into the community.
I have posted s many times.
invest in the primary age group, they will stay into the teens and further.

Re: Match Day Thread: Preston (FA CUP)
13 fouls each, 4 committed by Bez and equally 4 won by Bez. Clearly no ‘totting up’ yellow card either.
