Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
The guy behind me at the game (a relentless poster on the Facebook page) thought Fred had a great game and was almost incandescent with rage when he went off. Mind you he was also asking for Vokes to come on and “run at their defence” from about the second minute.
It takes all sorts…

Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
🤣 Bradley has been excellent if he was a Rice signing . None of the others have got up to speed or played much . What makes you think they are likely to be duds ? I know you say "if" but your implication seems to be they will or you would not have said this . Are you sure this is not just an attack on Rice period.

Re: Today...
...in 2011 (14 years ago) Matt Bloomfield played 89 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a 2-1 League Two win over Cheltenham Town at Adams Park (replaced by Scott Donnelly).
In 2020 (five years ago) Matt Bloomfield came on as a 87th minute substitute (replacing Dominic Gape) for Wycombe Wanderers in a 2-0 League One defeat to the Franchise.

Footballers try to gain an advantage. It's easy to have a go, but our guys are just the same.

Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
A couple of observations about Michael Morrison, the Cambridge central defender.
A few minutes before half time we had a corner or free kick from the left. There’s always plenty of shirt grabbing/pushing and shoving in those situations but on that occasion Morrison was actually wrestling Bradley to the ground. Just as much an offence as an arm brushing the back or side of a player’s head. Yellow card and penalty in both cases.
The other observation was the sight of Gmac and the aforementioned Michael Morrison having a really big hug after the final whistle. I guess they were good mates at Reading.

Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
Off the pitch, Michael Morrison is one of football’s good guys. On it, I’m afraid he’s the master of gamesmanship.
