Re: 2024... What a year!
Future academy talent won't stick around because they'll be heading back to Kazakhstan.
Re: 2024... What a year!
A highlight has to be the game where Morley and Humphreys appeared. We looked out of sorts, out of ideas and second best. Then immediately a couple of slick passes and a bit of chasing has us on our feet followed closely by a great goal, a whole new system and people wondering how we possibly got them signed up. A new dawn isn't too over dramatic.
Re: 25/26
Had to get the Reds in there somewhere. Actually Psycho was injured for a lot of that season and but Teddy Sheringham being sold and then Sir Brian not wanting to pay the money for Collymore...
Re: Other Football
At least Plymouth Argyle is less of a mouthful than saying Wayne Rooney's Plymouth Argyle for all the media pundits etc. Should save quite a bit of printing ink as well.
Re: Other Football
It's funny that since Rooney got the boot, everyone I know who supports a Championship or League One team is worried that they'll get him next.
Re: 2024... What a year!
Producing "our own talent" wouldn't make the club less special, but I'm not convinced that is the purpose of the academy investment. I think the purpose is producing talent that can be sold for big money to other clubs. I don't think many of the players coming out of the academy will stick around in our own team for long, if at all, before being sold on, leading to somewhat of a lack of continuity and team spirit.
Re: Rumour Mill
He's a very good player but not on Low or Taylor's level. I'm sure we've got someone in the pipeline.
Re: Rumour Mill
Lonwijk certainly wouldn’t be a downgrade in my book. Lonwijk was excellent during his time with us and continued to improve. I would have him back in a heartbeat.
