I would imagine it’s as simple as Derby wanting to free up a squad place. He was highly sought after when he went to Derby as an out of contract player, so you’d expect him to be on big wages too.

My understanding is that season tickets are counted whether they come or not but others only if they turn up.

Believe there is a VAT wrinkle that allows clubs to retain full value of tickets, including amount that would normally be paid to HMRC on no-shows as they have not received a service but that would only apply to any season ticket holders who didn't attend all season.

Thanks to coming down with the flu I missed yesterday's time-honoured dismiss a player before he's even played for us thread. It's a rare occasion that a League One side will be signing a player on loan from a Championship club that fans of the Championship club will be disappointed is being loaned out. Usually it'll be players that are out of favour who need game time, so at least wait until Bradley shanks a clearance over the Woodlands stand in the fifth minute before slagging him off.

As to whether it shows a lack of ambition, there is still a fair amount of time before the transfer window shuts for Dan Rice to show his worth on the recruitment front.

Harvie, Low, Scowen, Humphreys and Kone are must starts for me, every other position up for grabs. (Though in our current situation Grimmer and Bradley are pretty much in that category too).
