Re: James Berry signs
But…that’s my point!
At least MD doesn’t feel like he has to pick player just because Rice signed them.

Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
We’re second in the table, unbeaten in 8 games and just one defeat in the last 11.
Re: Other Football
Strangely, I think that we may do better against the top teams. You'd think that there'll be much less "parking the bus", especially in away games. The more open the game, the better we seem to play

...in 2008 (17 years ago) Matt Bloomfield played 90 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a 1-0 League Two win over Rochdale at Spotland.
In 2009 (16 years ago) Matt Bloomfield played 74 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a goal-less League Two draw with Rotherham United at Adams Park (replaced by Lewwis Spence).
In 2019 (six years ago) Matt Bloomfield played 87 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a 1-0 League One defeat to Gillingham at Adams Park (replaced by Nathan Tyson).
Re: James Berry signs
I would go for ‘bizarre’ rather ‘worrying’ personally. It suggests there’s something going on we don’t know about.
Re: James Berry signs
Not sure this jury is still ‘out.’ MD just said they’re fit, they’re just not good enough to get into the team. Which is not what we needed in the January window. Wrexham signed Sam Smith.

Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
Did we? I must have missed that. I read that he had scored 7 goals for Chesterfield from 22 appearances in League Two but, if I remember correctly, he hadn’t played much in the lead up to his transfer to Wycombe. I believe he may have been recovering from injury.

Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
Yeah but Kone has only just come back and the others haven't exactly been on fire in recent games. Add in Sadlier when ready and Berry could be way out of it, he's probably wondering why we bought him as much as we are.
Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
Yeah, usually if you want to use data or your contacts to get unknown gems from unusual places you not only go younger but also go cheap so the risk isn't there, spending so much on unheard of and unproven players smacks of agents hawking their clients about.
