Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
Man City had the ball 66% of the time yesterday. I would say 34% of effective possession is way better.
And the argument about entertainment v results will run and run of course. He’s got a truck load of titles and awards and yet the football City play is …. dull. Grealish was a great entertainer at Villa and he’s a bit part player under Pep.
Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
The manager like Bloomfield before him is finding his feet no doubt he will make mistakes and it’s not great timing for a new manager to come in . But equally Kone has been injured at a pivotal time , yes we should have won a few more games but the teams at the bottom are aiming for a draw we will adapt as will the manager. All the teams just below as will have the same type of games as have Wrexham there’s no guarantee they will win all their games plus they have to play us at home .

Re: James Berry signs
Probably just trying to be honest. He'll develop a slightly harder approach over time I'm sure.
To not even get on the bench once is a little worrying if Berry has been fit the whole time though.

Re: Reading offer Bearwood training ground to Wycombe
I wouldn't put it past him! I just cannot get excited about this news, having heard it so many times already. The optimistic in me wants to believe the takeover will happen this time. The pessimist in me me thinks Dai has found another fall guy, who will pay the bills for a couple of months and then it all falls through.
Re: The State of Play...
Off to St Andrew’s on Saturday, haven’t been there before and looking forward to 3 more points on the road. COYB!!!!
Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
You don't remember quite a bit of frustration that we didn't seem to have the knowhow how to see tight wins out and drew loads of games we were well on top in?

Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
The ‘lauded Pep and his panto coaching’ has yielded 12 league titles and 16 domestic cups across his time at Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City. I’d say his methods have been quite effective.

Knowing their luck it'll be Dai Yongge wearing a hat and calling himself Guy Dongge
Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
Let's not forget in the 1st half their goalkeeper made 2 really good saves, Simons saw McCleary free and set him up with a great cross-field ball from which he ran on and delivered a ball across the goal which none of our forward players got to. Then Wigan set up shop.
If 1 of those chances had gone in the game would have been different and Wigan would not have set back defending a 1-0 deficit. We need our strikers to score early on or perhaps make more of the chances we have. As MD said, he has to work out a way of making more of our 'final third' opportunities.
