Match Day Thread: Reading 23rd Aug 2025

If you’re going tomorrow, you might want to leave some extra time. I had to go past the Hour Glass/New Road today and the roadworks there were an absolute shambles it took me a considerable amount of time to get through

Two out-of-form, goalshy teams that will be desperate not to lose has 0-0 written all over it. So expect a wild 6-3.

Local derby, away end full, two struggling teams who collectively will at least double points earned in previous eight games this season, surprised to see Reading quoted at 4-1.

Feeling optimistic today…2 first half goals for Wycombe and O’Mahony sent off

One thing for certain is that it’s going to be very toxic today, whether that’s us, them, or the both of us! (And probably from me on here)

Hoping that today’s the day, at the 14th time of asking.

Huge opportunity missed if we haven’t got 50k worth of fireworks ready to set off if we win

Is Rob Couhig going to be at the game does anyone know?

I’m actually quite nauseous at the thought of JJ sitting in the stands supporting Reading (I’m not bringing Phil into this as I’m convinced he still wants us to win)

Wow crazy odds

Obviously Phil is a Wycombe fan. The one I’m interested in is who @PeteCouhig will be supporting

I’ll be interested to see if Quitirna gets his first start today, or he’ll remain on the bench.

Anyone have any updates on Henderson’s and Fink’s fitness?

There was some gossip on Twitter that Fink is not a million miles away but can’t find the damn tweets now in the rabbit hole I was in.

100% Wycombe

Can we all agree that this thread is just about the match rather than a couple of idiots arguing with each other about Matt Bloomfield?

I think this is the match where it starts coming together. You can the understanding growing, sounds like we might see Fink and the players will be well up for ending this run.

I’m not a betting man but they are surely the odds of the weekend.

It’s insane odds.

Quitirna started against Stockport, playing ahead of Casey in the nonexistent right side formation.

I hope we do not repeat that today!

You’re quite right - on both counts!

It was on the Wycombe Podcast @petef1
