It's a strange one to play this way so suddenly. It could work with time to iron out where people go and when, to drop it for a Tuesday game in hand seems odd. Wingbacks need to drive forward, and we need players near Kone faster.
We've seen many away games like this where we keep it tight and nick the win, look at what Wrexham for Christ's sake. All still to play for.
With the exception of Joe Low, who is all over the place, and Adam Reach, who is quiet, think the players have played pretty well so far. Just a shame that we are tactically all over the place. I don’t know what Dodds is trying to do. Kone isolated up-front but working his socks off. Utterly baffled.
I don't think we've been too bad there. Rotherham are more expansive then I expected but once we work the ball through their press in our half we look dangerous. Agree that Kone is too isolated - I'd much rather see Humphreys playing just off him.
My goodness, if you compare the rolls-royce performance at Stockport to that mess of a first-half, there can be no doubt we've severely regressed in both style and substance. It's tough to watch.
I don't understand that performance or half. Completely bizarre. We actually played some very nice silky football in midfield and looked quite fluid like earlier this season. Unfortunately, whenever we got into a good attacking position we stopped, turned around, and played it back to the defence. There must have been a dozen decent openings like that where the ball wasn't played forward to the man in space. Puzzling
Serious questions about Dodds after that half. I know it's early days but a) his body language on the sidelines is terrible, again, b) his line up and formation makes no sense, c) we all knew Kone would be isolated in this system and d) we all knew with this set up our wing backs lack any pace.
A draw does little for us here, so why are we playing like we want a 0-0?
Dodds is struggling here. Feels like a practice match and he looks lost on the sidelines. They are awful and I think we’ll get something….just, but not impressed at the moment.
Maybe this is one of these masterful tactical jobs where you dispirit the home team then bring the big boy forwards on at 65-70 and come out with a comfy 2-0 win.
I don’t get all this ‘looks lost on the sidelines’ bollocks. Tony Mowbray spent half his managerial career planted on the bench …. Are people really obsessed with ‘passion’? If the results and football were good would people really give a shit?
Individually we're playing ok, but the formation, or perhaps the players chosen to play this formation are doing us no favours. Kone far to isolated and there's no width. The right subs at the right time could pay dividends. Not an entertaining 45mins of football!
For anyone not listening to wanderers TV Bez confirmed some sort of an injury and hoping to be back after the international break.
Really enjoy having player’s insight on the commentary - him and Phil having definitely made a dull game more enjoyable. Impressed with Simons so far though and think we are doing ok.
Tonight is all about winning, so if we can find a way to do that second half, can forget this game and regroup over break.
Genuinely wondering whether Dodds has watched any video (not just spreadsheets!!) of games from earlier on in the season when we were playing so well. He came in saying he wasn't going to change very much. It's all totally changed!!
My pre-conceived thoughts on that line up have come true. I don’t normally have a tantrum but I’m having one tonight!
What an absolute joke, Dodds hasn’t got a clue tonight. I hope he switches this up. It’s almost as if someone else is picking the line up because I cannot believe how crap that first half was and how many players are out of position.
Reach at right wing. Humphreys nowhere near Kone. No pace anywhere. Complete lack of desire to get in the box after Kone’s run.
Rotherham are absolute toilet, we should be ripping them apart.
Low’s chance was arguably a penalty, although very soft.
Norris’ distribution is woeful.
It’s almost like the data is telling us we’re not ready for promotion so we’re doing our best to make sure we fuck it up.
I hope Dodds has a half time like he did at Birmingham, that second half was the best we’ve played under him.
The trouble is we’ve got so many solid players on, you’d need a triple sub to change it up!
please don’t let it be as bad as the first half…
Im not sure Wayne Rooneys assistant was an inspired appointment given how insipid his teams were.
The most annoying thing about today is that none of this felt needed at all. We’d been quite unlucky in a lot of the games. We’d looked solid in most of them too. All we needed were a few tweaks and to bring Rav, Xavi and Kone back in. He’s massively overthought it.
And he’s made no half time subs. Great. Can’t wait for 15 more minutes of my eyes bleeding.

I wish I had a pound for every time we pass the ball back. Where are the goals coming from.

Reach and Simons are fantastic players.
I was thinking the same. He’s normally an 8/10 every game but last few barely a 6
This formation is terrible.
Reach playing as a forward and on the right at that.
Zero pace.
Kone isolated.
What is Dodds thinking because I have no idea what he’s trying to achieve.

I’ve just realised what this match reminds me of, that time Austria and Germany only needed to draw with each other to both get past the group stage.

Get a second striker on and actually pass forward and we should hammer this lot.

Distinctly unimpressed
As the only professional men's football game in the world tonight I'd like to apologize to the universe for what they have just watched.
A common error, but you are incorrect
"Drop out of the promotion race, but don't look like you're trying to drop out of the promotion race."
"Arrrrrgh."
"I don't know - play casual!"
Yeah, I don’t dislike this as much as some on here.
There are some decent passing moves happening, and a lot of “nearly” moments where the final ball for an attacker hasn’t quite come off.
All it would take is for one of those to come good and we’re away. That said Rotherham have created some spells of pressure too.
It's the playing wing backs, yet not using Reach there, who surely is an ideal fit if you have to play wing backs.
To suddenly move him forward and on the other side seems very odd indeed.

Pressure is building.
Reach looks one of the most one footed players ever, yet at the same time exudes quality. A really strange combo.
However, he should be on the other wing!
Any danger of a Wycombe player getting within 20 yards of Kone in attack? Frustrating watch so far
Control.

100% agree.
There's enough to moan about on the pitch without analysing every single twitch of Doddo on the sideline.

Thanks for confirming. I've actually got the Wanderers tv coverage on but must have missed that key bit!
I had the game on pause for 20 minutes.
