  • Vokes looked good, winning some dangerous flick-ons against a strong defence.

  • Facebook: Dodds out.

    Twitter: DODDS OUT 😡😡😡

  • Unfortunately we are not playing well over the last few weeks. We are toothless without Kone. Dodds now really needs to show whether he is up for the task. Haven’t seen much evidence so far from him. Tuesday is a must win game.

  • Can't believe we've turned into a one man team ! No Kone, no chance. I'm not sure how Gmac and Fred are getting in he team right now, they've both been not good enough for weeks. Unfortunately we've blown this, and I'm not sure I'm up to seeing us lose at Wembley yet again. I'm a little nit depressed now, sorry.

  • The next 3 games are all must win. I see no evidence that we have what it takes to beat the likes of Bolton, Charlton, Reading or Stockport.

8 points ahead of 7th place now. That gap will close up faster than you think.

  • I’m seeing pictures online of a blatant handball in the build up to the goal?

  • Not the best game to put before a sold out crowd.

  • Certainly need to improve on current form. This could all go horribly wrong in the next few games.

  • They won that for their fan. Vestagaard looks not very inspiring along with Anders.

Both have now miss kicked the ball when playing. Not yet ready. Hopefully people stop going on about them like their Messi.

  • It's form since the start of December. Not current form. Majority of the season in reality.

  • Also if we use Vokes play him diagonals. Stop lumping balls.to Udoh.

  • First half we shaded it and looked the better side

Second half up to the stoppage - Meh - both teams negated each other

Restart to end - they wanted it more than we seemed to and were half a yard faster than us and prepared to chase everything, and we seemd clueless as to how to break them down or even where to put the ball.

you can blame the coach, but that last 18 minutes was down to the players and a clear inability to think on their feet or talk to each other, very disappointing

    2024/25 season updated stats...

    Matt Bloomfield: P25 W15 D6 L4 F50 A27 PTS 51 GD +23 Win percentage: 60%

    Sam Grace: P4 W2 D2 L0 F5 A3 PTS 8 GD +2 Win percentage: 50%

    Mike Dodds: P7 W2 D3 L2 F6 A5 PTS 9 GD +1 Win percentage: 29%

  • Whoever didn’t ‘want’ Blooms in should be out for me. Dropped an absolute bollock with that one.

Terrific first half but we haven’t put in a good 90 mins for a while now.

Westergaard looks like a gangly teenage rabbit in the headlights and why on earth are we sending a tired McCleary out after an enforced break so late on. FFS should have taken the opportunity to reset, get subs on and go and win it. Nope, didn’t do that and 3 mins later it’s 2 subs after letting a goal in.

I don’t blame Dodds, I think as a club we’ve gone and signed far too many distinctly average and / or not fit enough players in January and we’ve lost all all bloody momentum.

Proper grumpy mood I’m in now!!😂

  • Disappointing result.

Reality is we made the team in 3rd look pretty ordinary for most of the game. And they made the team in 2nd look pretty ordinary for most of the game. Both defences held firm enough to restrict attacks for most of the game.

Delay in the game allowed the two best chances of the game to fall while defences were waking up again. We missed at our corner, they scored there chance.

Going to be a tough run in and we need some confidence back going forward (especially out wide) but they didn’t exactly dominate us and make us look stupid all game.

Dodds needs to learn to make earlier subs for me though. We lost the midfield in the 2nd half. He would do well to borrow from the previous era the “finishers” idea that seemed to freshen things up from the bench for 30 mins to go.

  • I'm fine to give Dodds a while. A solid 12 months of dross under Blooms has taught me that there needs to be time. Dodds is a coach who needs space to work with players, which is why we've hired him. It doesn't work overnight.

We lost in the first 75 mins by simply not doing enough in attack. Fine passing at times, good strength, but so little quality up front from all 3. Fred won fouls well but did nothing going forward Udoh was marked out of it, and McLeary has been missing for so long. Humphreys is our best player and we struggled to know how to get him the ball. Then in the final 15 they simply wanted it more... we lacked any plan.

  • Do the Ricicles really care if we go up or not? I’m not suggesting they are throwing this but with focus on the academy and appointing staff every few days it seems, will a league 1 team be just as useful to it as a championship one? Because make no mistake, the club is now there to serve a purpose as part of a bigger plan.

We signed players bar Bradley, Reach and Taylor re loan who haven't played LG1 or higher football in England. Hopeful data analysis.

That’s probably up there with the ML is just money laundering conspiracy for me.

After smashing our transfer fee twice, refusing 7m bids for Kone and holding onto Low (perhaps our best CB), No, of course they aren’t throwing it on purpose/ or really don’t care if we go up or not.

  • None of this will matter sadly. Our season is about to peter out. We might finish 5th and roll over in a play off semi final, but there isn't a chance we're getting promoted. When that happens, both Low and Kone will be gone by the start of August.

  • You knew that was gonna happen.

    - Kone out

    - We've struggled to break down teams at home for the last 4 months when they sit back, especially without Kone

    - Wrexham masters of spawny 1-0 wins with very few shots on goal

    - Deflected volley from one of their few attacks

    It was pre-destined

I refer you back to my first post match comment of “ We’ll be completely fine”.

whatever the fuck that actually means. It’s probably the one thing that annoys me about Dodds at this time (I’m tending to give him time)but it’s a phrase I have noticed he likes to say but doesn’t actually mean anything without any context.

cos if he means “we’ll still probably all be alive” then yes, we’ll be completely fine.

If it means we’ll still get auto promotion, then I’m not sure we will be completely fine

  • To be truthful, if there is no ambition to look upwards then fans will stop coming.

But I’m sure they want promotion as they say about sustaining at a higher level.

Just feels like too much meddling has happened this season which wasn’t needed given how well we were performing.

  • Dodds is a coach who needs space to work with players, under the auspices of someone more senior who picks the tactics, does the 'gaffer' thing and leads from the front. When Dodds got the chance to be the frontman at Sunderland - in charge of players he knew well and had shaped - he still messed it up. The Sunderland fans were saying it from the moment he was appointed at Wycombe - Dodds doesn't have the skillset to be head coach. As we're now learning the hard way.

  • I really struggle with the ‘never too high, never too low’ mantra because right now I’m in a proper grumpy mood. Football, eh.

  • I never said they were, but does it really matter to the academy plans right now if we are league 1 or championship next season? I’d say a cat 1 academy wants a premier league or competitive championship side attached. A cat 4 working to cat 3 and onwards across a few years can probably do as well with a league 1 team as a championship one and right or the main guys have focus on the academy. Which may well be the smart business decision. What we focus on tends to do better.

But you did wonder if they care about the first time when the reality is that at the moment, they can’t add anything to the first team because of the transfer window and so they can focus on the academy etc when Mike Dodds and his team can do their jobs and focus on the playing side of things

When they could do something about the first team and focus on it, they smashed the transfer fee x2 , held onto our best players, signed many players and hired a new head coach.

If they did all the academy stuff in Jan and did no transfer business because of it, I might see your point

  • There was a real joy about Wycombe under Bloomfield earlier this season. Very similar team to now but it was all about attacking and being positive. Now it is all about trying not to concede under a defence- minded manager, sorry head coach. Even if we do find a way of going up, Dodds, combined with Rice, has managed to suck a lot of the excitement out of things.

Mentally our players seem shot. Without Kone on the pitch we don't look like scoring a goal and no one seems confident enough to try and pick a pass. We've become easy to press, easy to win the ball off, easy to bully. Predictable, predictable, predictable. Has that come from the Head Coach? Maybe it has, but the senior players in the squad need to step up and be counted.

Wrexham were nothing special at all today, but they looked infinitely more of a "team" than we do. Worrying.

  • The whole organisation now feels that the first team is secondary to the Academy and the data analysis and 100 staff up at Harlington . Let’s be honest here the billionare chap doesn’t give a crap about the first team, I doubt Dan Rice does either in reality. What is Rice anyway? Rather have Ainsworth back , it was all more fun then . No wonder Bloomfield left. Rice et all can F off back to wherever it was they appeared from.

These people really have no idea at all.
