Rather less suavely, I left driving a packed Peugeot 205 directly after the game, overnighting in Hull. After a lively night in Spiders, drinking Southern Comfort and Colt 45 lager, we made it to Gateshead and all look very ill in the photos.
Love that ‘mind’ at the end of a sentence. I’ve seen it a couple of times on here. always from northern based fans, I think, whether born and bred there or not, perhaps.
I find it amusing that (as of google right now) it’s twenty minutes quicker to drive from Wrexhams stadium to Oxford Airport than it is from Chester Airport to Oxford Airport.
Almost as amusing as it landing about two hours after it was scheduled to land and was in the air an hour.
So had they just gone by coach, from the stadium and left at the time the aircraft was original due to take off, they probably would have arrived in Oxford earlier.
Five. That car was appallingly treated and managed 140,000 miles, a lot of which were following the chairboys.
And to save money, it went 7 years without a service, once being driven to Stockport and back despite the STOP light coming on at Stokenchurch on the outbound journey. I just covered it up with a pack of Marlboro Lights.
Turned out that radiators work best with some liquid inside them.
In 1884 Datchet Webb sat atop his perch as 'cock o' the gang' and rallied the exhausted workers from the mills and turning factories across the Wye Valley from the finishers of Loudwater to the bodgers of Stokenchurch.

That doesn't bode well for my usual parking spot outside the Origin unit.
Combined with a weak bladder, and the inevitable queue for the toilets in the FA stand, I think I'll swerve this one, and watch from Vipienne, beer in hand. Less chance of ending up with piss-soaked chinos that way.
All those who are going, have a loud and great time, and I hope you get home at a reasonable hour.
Forget Wrexham flying to the Match, ML should invest in 20 or so light and dark blue Piper Archer aircraft and mandatory squad flying lessons to be stationed at Booker so the squad can turn up to away days in a WW2 Leigh-Mallory style Big Wing formation.
It will also give a new reason for the Chairlift to be useful in both directions. Stadium to a new dedicated Booker airfield terminal.
As promised, I'm already looking like Sissy Spacek at the end of Carrie (1976), An interesting movie but, at almost 50 years old, very much a period piece.
