  • Hope you’ve donned the thermals, @railwaysteve. “Feels like zero Celsius” but feels even colder if sitting outdoors.

Saving grace - only a very gentle breeze.

Sam Grace to maintain the 30 year unbeaten record at Field Mill.

I should have the 'Tour de Season' updates done and posted and then the Northampton Match thread started today.

  • Mansfield really are having a great season in terms of crowd numbers, they sell out in the home areas nearly every game which is around 6900.

Yesterday was the 10th time we had played them in the league and apart from one game back in Level 3 in 2003 they have never had a crowd more than 3237 against us with an average over the 9 of 3122.

It does make you wonder why we continue to struggle to get more than 4000 home fans through the gate on average, especially with the season we are having.

  • Yeah. The likes of Mansfield, Shrewsbury, Northampton, Cambridge were all getting 3.5k-4.5k crowds 10-20 years ago but have really kicked on.

  • Their fans created a superb atmosphere in their equivalent of the Frank Adams yesterday. The stand was pretty much full in both the top and bottom tiers. There's a fair sized safe standing section down the end nearest the away end. I wonder if that's something we could consider in blocks K and L of the Frank Adams. Don't think there are any season ticket holders up there, so no-one would be disrupted.

  • Yeah great turnout from Mansfield yesterday. Both stands packed out.

Is a shame as mentioned with Wycombe’s turnout at the moment. But I feel there’s a lot to get behind and attendance will increase from now.

Love Mansfield great club, especially what happened in 2014. I was in Torquay that day, so very happy to make the trip to Mansfield to watch the mighty Wanderers

  • they did then start fighting each other in the safe standing bit though, not ideal…

also I must admit I use the exact same prompt everytime so maybe my AI friend is just getting better. Probably predict 9,000 for Northampton next week now though
