It's still crazy to think Blooms scored an open play goal in the Championship, which Bayo and JJ were not able to do (though JJ had two perfectly good corner goals disallowed).
That table should remind us all that the reason why we played Gazball when we had Bayo was because it was astonishingly effective. Look at those assist numbers alongside his goals. When you remember that all our opponents knew how we set up and played and still couldn’t stop it, it seems even more remarkable to me.
...in 2004 (21 years ago)Matt Bloomfield made just his second ever Wycombe Wanderers appearance as a half-time substitute (replacing Craig Faulconbridge) in a 3-0 Division Two defeat to Blackpool at Adams Park.
In 2009 (16 years ago)Matt Bloomfield played 45 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a 1-0 League Two defeat to Grimsby Town at Adams Park (He was substituted at half-time and replaced by Angelo Balanta).
In 2015 (ten years ago)Matt Bloomfield played 90 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a 1-1 League Two draw with Bury at Gigg Lane.
Quite the different journeys Wycombe and Bury have been on in those subsequent 10 years. For all that these last few days have been difficult, they could have been so much worse.
One of my favourite early Blooms era memories was when he swept home against Leyton Orient in late 2005, helping us go top of L2. All seemed possible in the hysteria of Gormania and that was a cracking game.
That same night I’d help guide a group of Scandinavian ground hoppers to the ground from the train station. Little did I know it was a sign…sort of.

How did he play?

Are we going to do this every day?
Don't think he finished quite on 350 odd goals so unlikely.
In fairness, he didn't even score 1 goal in that example above!
I know it'll never catch on but I must start reading before replying.
Only 555 to go, then...
Lolz.
Always.
I'd have to check how many goals Bloomy actually scored for us, but it was never his main strength was it!
Since you clearly asked for the all-time league era stats to be stuck up again: 😁
Nice one @Shev , always good to see.
I think there was only one season when he didn't score a league goal in his playing career for us.
He scored more for Wycombe than some very notable names in that list Shev provided, so fair dibs to him.

Yes apparently
