Not certain I like Bloomfield’s comment about fans who care. We bloody care. It’s our club and we will still be here , when Rice and his merry men depart.
Crappy statement from the club for someone who has given so much to the club.
It looks like he was nudged out of the door so they can get their own man in.
Four people in charge of the team at the same time. I've heard of Sam Grace but Harry Houdini and Jilted John and the other guy, I've never heard of.
Whatever happens, it feels like we have lost part of what makes the club unique and special. Despite the changes, the Couhigs managed to retain this whilst putting decent investment in.
Wish him all the best. Only disappointment is to say as a manager, he hasn't achieved anything yet - either at Wycombe or Colchester. Would have liked for him to see this season through and get a promotion on his CV. Similar thoughts on our key players that everyone seems to be after.
Reading that he's just turned down West Brom, perhaps he considers League 1 beneath him, but what about Russell Martin as next boss?
There is a positive in all this - but not from a Wycombe viewpoint. Matt has now got 3.5 year job security (& I'm sure a wage rise) that will provide security both for him & his lovely family. After 20 years service to WWFC it's the least he deserves.
Our loss is his gain. However, as many people have mentioned, it changes the perspective and culture of WWFC. It's a watershed moment between what many fans hold dear & a completely unknown future. The club statement does little to rectify that.
Jerome John isn't even listed on the club contacts page: https://www.wwfc.com/club/contacts who is he? And it's not like this page is out of date because they've cleared MB off it sharp
Just trying to get my head around the anti-Dan Rice comments and the suggestion we should sing derogatory songs. What do we actually know about the circumstances behind Matt leaving apart from plenty of posters who seem to know every person who work at the club all of a sudden but of course can't say anymore.
The new owners have invested unprecedented amounts of money into the first team and behind the scenes. Matt has left to explore new opportunities. And we should sing songs that someone is a w@nker? Hmmm.
No one likes change but some people seem to REALLY not like change. It seems to me that people are getting angry about unverified posts on top of posts which is more of a Facebook thing.
I keep trying to stop myself but Christ, the takes on Facebook are horrendous at best, braindead at worst. The term ‘shuddering ape’ fits perfectly for some of the posters on there.
Focusing just on the future of Blooms for a moment, I don't see much "risk" in going to Luton, from a career point of view. He gets Champo experience (which is never guaranteed, even when you are on a good run in L1), and even if they get relegated and sack him, he gets a payoff and would still walk into a L1 job.
Similar for GA - QPR was his dream job, and though the squad was not set up for his strengths, he got a payoff, a rest with some media work, and still walked into a L1 job when the time was right. Yes, it could have gone better, but he felt like he had taken us as far as he could, and is probably better off financially after making the jump.
Luton's squad is also in a much better state than QPR's was, and is clearly underperforming rather than drowning. So yes, taking them down might push Blooms' upward trajectory back, but it's the sort of chance that you have to grab when the new regime at Wycombe is made up of a bunch of ingrates it is available.
I actually have an extremely close link to someone who works very close to the inner circle.
But,...they never tell me anything so i'm not an ITK 😅
However, the gasroom power posters have decided Rice n co didn't back the manager, are buying random players Bloomy didn't want, and had their desired manager lined up from day 1.
So we'll see how quick the appointment is, and who it is.

Hey DJ, the data model says people would enjoy the party more if you play the Stereophonics
(the data set is Ringing the Blues Playlist Picks)
I feel our current management is very Coldplay.
(And probably think John Bishop is a comedy genius when I think about it)

He's not taking a pop at the Wycombe fans fgs
What sort of "club statement" was that?? FFS.
This is just all too much.
A dark, dark day. I need to reflect long and hard. I've seen some comings and goings in my time, but this just about takes the biscuit.
I think I'm going to have to leave this site for a while...
He had to say something and 'I love Wycombe but Luton offered me a shitload of money' is just going to upset everybody.
Yeah, he's not taking a dig at the fans. It's a way to cosy up to Luton fans, and take a dig at our owners.

I just went for a dog walk in the hope that I'd feel more positive and optimistic afterwards. I don't.
I only want to hear two songs sung at Adams Park next home match - "Oh Matty Matty!" and "Dan Rice, what a wanker".
Is the dog happier though?
Jilted John
ooof!!
Harry Hudson, Matty Dye and Jerome John
They are so committed to the Football Manager bit they used some regens as the interims
I picked a bad day to give up drinking!
Only if you start the second one?

Amongst all the mad stuff going on, I did chuckle at your take on those names.
Oh.

Glad Matt's last game was a home win and a decent atmosphere.

The suggestion earlier in this thread that Matt was blocked from picking players because the data said they weren't right for that match is noteworthy
I must have missed that post @aloysius who said that?

That'll tell us how spot on they've called it.
I don't know what you know, but I know what I know. Feel free to continue in blissful ignorance.
Nobody.
I know emotions are running high, but please..it's "shimmering" ape.
