Being asked to get excited about Wycombe achieving things under Dan Rice currently feels (to me) like being forced to adopt a robot and then get excited when it passes it's GCSEs.
This regime feel like the worst side of the business world to me - corporatespeak about "culture" on the surface, passive aggressive beneath it. To basically make Blooms so uncomfortable in the role and then be "disappointed" he has chosen to leave (and be willing for fans to potentially blame Blooms) sums it up.
Would the data really say to play Butcher over Scowen/Morley/Humphreys/Leahy? If it does, we need better data. And if two of those have been missing, Butcher has played
I can't remember how official the source was, but I remember being told he had a Wycombe release clause in his Colchester contract - they knew he was there to learn the ropes before coming back to us, it just happened a bit quicker than most parties were expecting.
Bugger. Too many games recently! Must have been the Huddersfield game, although there were some unhappy fans when we had a couple of draws. Anyway, point remains that we have some fans who seemingly can't wait to abuse the manager if we don't win. Luton will have them too but I can understand why Matt feels hurt that his loyalty to Wycombe didn't seem to earn him any from some fans.
I just think it came down to a better job, more money and a chance (and they don't come along often) to manage at a higher level. Nothing more. No conspiracy, no fall outs, just a guy wanting to better himself and on a 3.5 year contract securing his family for a good while too.
And for that I say thanks Matt and good luck.
I also say I look forward to seeing what Dan and his team do in the future. I have met both Dan and Matt a handful of times and found them intelligent and good company. It might be that two decent people have chosen not to work together.
Too many dark posts when it is probably a lot more simple
To the people questioning what "culture" we're losing through all this - the club I've supported for the last few decades simply wouldn't have forced a high performing Wycombe legend of 20 years, who had basically been training for the manager's job for half of that, out the door without so much as a wave. We had class, community and compassion running though our veins. Now we've got some cunts playing ChampMan.

Butcher?
That's just a wholesome video
I didn't say you said that did I. Read and understand before replying.

Imagine feeling so unwanted that going to Luton feels like a liquid balm of validating love and compassion?
I’ve just been sent this

Neil Harris rumours are strong....
No thank you

Just remembered that Cauley Woodrow of Barnsley fame plays for Luton. All will be forgiven if Blooms plants an elbow on him during training this week.
So it's the fans' fault now? I'm finding this plot hard to follow.
Remind me why we're supposed to be angry at Woodrow?
Haha! I made this and posted on reddit... good to see it's been doing the rounds already.
Had to laugh at this, was on the Luton forum

But what do you really think about all this?
"Shi**ing" on the corner flag in an empty stadium during that Covid Championship season.

Yes I hold a grudge!
Ha, I had to rein myself in. That's the reined in version.
Think they are from a fake Pete O'Rourke account https://x.com/SportsPeet0
*rein before @micra sees this
Ahhh yes. That was very immature and all but in the past!
Dunno what you're talking about @flymofrank
I suppose it sort of made sense - you are de facto king of the Gasroom
Fake news. Not enough young blokes with sharp haircuts in that pic.
