I know.. bit if he's gunna hit it into oncoming opposition players feet he might as well just slap it to the side and give them a corner. At least we then have a fighting chance of defending
If only he had punched it the length of the pitch like George/Bishop would have done had Morley been playing, Humphries could have latched onto it and scored. Sort it out, Bloomfield.
It might take a few games for him to recover the magic @Shev . Who would have thought Gmac and Fred would be so erratic form-wise? We've certainly missed him.
Surely we can muster a back four Bradley (for game time), Skura, Hartridge and Grimmer if fit. Unless Swansea are still in the cup in which case I would play Low.
I can be a bit pedantic after midnight @Alexo but in this case, I just think if a goalie is punching it whilst jumping in a throng of players he's not got that much chance of either power or placement. Kane had a stroke of fortune I think.
Yeah.... you are probably right @Wendoverman I'm probably still a bit gutted about the result and being overly critical. I can sometimes be a bit overcritical after midnight 🙃
Equally gutted about result as I thought we deserved a point...as others have pointed out I hope we see a better formation, guile and bravery from the forward players ( shoot!!!!) against a resurgent Mansfield eager for revenge. All games will be tough from now on.
Was it a poor punch? Yes. But Kone was in his way - communicate, lads - and Fred was daydreaming, allowing their best player all the time in the world to get a shot off. Partly on Rav, especially if he didn't clearly call for it, but there are various things going on.
The team you support not being able to get some effective set pieces going has got to be one of the most frustrating/confusing things in football. Honestly, how hard can it be?
Either the manager or the player on set pieces has to put their hand up and say someone else has a go if we consistently fail to get decent balls in from dead-ball situations. Everyone has off days, also it helps keep potential second choice set piece takers get match practice should Leahy not be included in the starting XI.
I watch matches on my own and rarely get too vocal but I’ve been exasperated recently by how dire the majority of our set pieces have been and, lovely guy as he is, I’m afraid Luke Leahy has more often than not been the culprit.
Another frustration, whilst acknowledging how good they have been the majority of the time, Fred and Gmac have been disappointing lately - the reason why I have been championing the case for giving Gideon Kodua more minutes (and indeed why I would like to see him signed on a permanent basis). Kodua on the right and Sadlier on the left could be quite exciting.
We were bound to have a slight dip in form at some stage - and that’s all it is - but the future looks bright at Adams Park in a world where it looks far from it.
COYB - please let’s discard “Up the Wyc” which crops up occasionally on Facebook and probably elsewhere.
We've had some really inventive short corner routines this season that have led to goals and kept up pressure, but I think Tuesday we only punted it into the box (and rarely past the first man).
When you have Kone, for all his hold up play, you want him in the box with crosses coming in. When he is out wide, holds it up, lays it off to Fred and stays there to receive it back again it tends to come to nothing. I think once in the match a quick ball came into the box with Kone centrally placed. Keeper got it. Do it 10 times a game though and he’s going to score or someone else is. Udoh, Lubala, Vokes.
If Sadlier isn’t back soon then wide players who can get a cross in are needed. Sadly this doesn’t seem to be Fred or GMac.

We might see it on Friday night 😧
The more you watch us since his departure? Hardly been an eternity???? Its literally been 1 match...
What are you talking about????
Yes he has to punch in that instance..... was a piss poor punch though 🙃🤔😒
Unfortunately when he tries to command his 6 yard box and punch the ball, he never seems to get much distance.

Don't be pedantic 🤣 it most definitely was a poor punch

Don't feed after midnight. 🙂

Has anyone mentioned that we’d played three games in seven days and Huddersfield only two?

I know it's a weird time of year with a packed recent schedule.
But it's obviously been TWO games!!
Definitely would have had some sort of impact.
Playing with 10 men for much of the second half against Blackpool didn't help

I'm glad it's not just me, must admit I've become more and more frustrated with our corners and free kicks lately

I'm an idiot 🙄
Created the best chance against Blackpool through one
Haha no harm done!
I did take a few seconds just checking the dates to make sure :-)
Weird time of year with mass games etc
Exactly. When they've been good, they've been very, very good. When they've been bad, etc.
The mass games aren't until first of May, right @Kim_il_Swan?
