Why is it clear he didn’t have a say in this signing? I’d say this is exactly the type of signing Blooms would make. Great experience in a position we desperately need and with Low likely to move on having an experienced head in to help the younger guys (assuming we sign another young CB on loan) seems good business.
Best to judge this one after a handful of games surely.
I assume that Taff is done and Caleb ain’t coming back. Let’s not pretend he’s a long term signing, he’s a loan to fill a hole we have. If he fulfils that role then fabulous I hope he brings leadership and presence in defence.
Bloomfield signed Keogh so he clearly doesn’t mind a veteran centre half. There are also 25 more days in this transfer window - maybe Bradley is a stop gap and we could sign another player in the next 25 days. If we don’t sign another CB then by all means judge the recruitment, but give the guys a chance.
I’m skeptical of the long-term viability of a Blooms-Rice (insert other) set-up but I think you’re reaching a bit here. What does the 450 appearances thing even mean? That’s a good thing?
Which players is he not bringing in? Since this is our first signing since August does that mean he had nothing to do with Morley, Taylor and Humphreys in which case I look forward to seeing Bradley in action. Out of interest how many games have you seen Bradley play this season?
He may indeed be a bit more of a stop gap than a permanent signing but with Taf still not fit to play (and with a poor injury record too) we would currently be relying on Skura or moving Grimmer to centre back.
It's also possible we might have to face life without Joe Low come the end of January, so it makes sense to bring in somebody.
I'm sure this signing is more data lead than Richard Keogh's was so I'll give him a chance before making my judgement.
so many posts about us actually spending on players this Jayary , let's see just how serious the owners are about WWFC...we have the opportunity of a lifetime to push for promotion , this jan will show us exactly if the owners do want us to be successful

Agreed, imagine being saddled with a player from a higher tier club who bossed it getting promoted in this tier last year.
Is he quick? Is he a ballplayer? If not, are we changing style?
Sonny, yesterday my life was filled with rain
Sonny, you joined the team and really eased the pain
Now the dark day is done and the bright days are here
My Sonny stands over 6'2
Sonny you're so tall, I love you

Couldn’t agree more
A left sided centre half was exactly what was necessary. This signing probably spells the end for both Hartridge and Tafazolli.
Matt Bloomfield has said in recent interviews than Dan Rice is responsible for recruitment.
He’s almost the polar opposite of the player he’s replacing (Caleb Taylor).
Michael Duberry had plenty of experience when we signed him. How did he get on?
Also, a loan doesn’t sound like we’re planning for the future. It feels more like a cheap stop-gap.
You’re free to judge after a handful of games. He’s made over 450 league appearances, that’s more than enough to make a judgement for me.

They are, but the future isn't really about how the team are doing this season.

If we get to the Championship, we sign a better calibre in the summer.
If we are still l1, we don't have a high wage asset.
Maybe he'll be more of a Frank Sinclair than a Duberry.

We don't need everyone to be a long term signing.
We need the best fits for the team that we can realistically bring in. Let's hope Bradley is one of a few who fit the bill this January.
It wouldn't 100% rule Taylor out later in the window I don't think. But it makes sense not to gamble your hat on it.
We learnt our lesson with Bishop last summer.
But premature on Hartridge I’d have thought. But Taffs days must be numbered regardless of what happens with Joe Low.

Unfortunately, that "ill" spell right when he was needed has probably guaranteed the end of the road, be it this window or in the summer.
Oh why did you have to mention Duberry after I'd finally managed to expunge that name from my memory.......
How many times have you seen him play to make your tactical assessment?
This is not getting the love it deserves.
@MindlessDrugHoover Frank Sinclair still had pace when we signed him. Sonny Bradley has never had any pace.
@manchesterchairboy why are we signing players as stop-gaps? What does that say about our longer term planning?
@williwycombe a greater number of appearances allows you to make a better judgement of a player
First loanee from Derby since Martin Taylor?
The Duberry Oliver dream combo.
Given his relationship with Scott Mitchell I suspect his involvement in our recruitment was far greater in the summer.
Sonny Bradley has started three league games for Derby County this season.
You’ll have watched him numerous times yourself. What’s your assessment?

It’s amazing how many posters have assumed that this is not a Bloomfield signing. I wonder where they get the inside information from ?
A pity we can't sign a Fabian Schar from Newcastle.
A Sonny & Schar backline would be superb.
And it's also odd how some seem to wilfully be trying to create issues.
Posting that Ice Cream boy's criticism about transfers taking a while - then literally a transfer going through straight after - still moan!

They would have suited Derby better ‘Before it's earned, our money's all been spent’
