Shouty ice cream seller is v much used to being in charge. Looks like he has been sidelined by the new order. And doesn’t like not being at the centre of things.
The long term strategy of the owners and their appointed team is building an academy upwards. The current league position is a ‘nice to have’ but not central to that strategy. From what I have seen so far Dan and his cohort won’t be distracted from their long term goal.
Which isn’t necessarily aligned to what we fans want / hope / expect.
It is surprising to me that an owner and executives of a football team aren't that interested in having success on the field. This world is changing too fast for me.
Possibly far too simplistic but surely a more successful first team naturally enables you to have a stronger academy? More money, players more likely to sign, better opposition etc.
They'd be absolutely mad not to provide funds to sustain a promotion push. Establishing ourselves in the division above would be an absolute game-changer for the whole project. They'll know this; they're smart guys.
I hope you are correct @flymofrank . Yet Dan et al will be judged by the ownership across a five year plan, not year one. He doesn’t strike me as someone to be distracted by short term gain.
I don't imagine Matt Bloomfield has got much say at all in who is coming through the door this transfer window, or any future one
Not a unique model by any means, plenty of clubs operate that way. But Matt can point to a proven track record when he was in charge of it, so the new lot really do need to get it right

Not sure how to post, but an interesting tweet from Andrew Howard this morning. Looks like all is not well behind the scenes on the recruitment front.
Could really do without off-field politics derailing what we have achieved so far this season. Sort it please
This tweet I assume: https://x.com/BeechdeanAH/status/1876171753623621749

For sure, but if done right this would be a long term gain that could really accelerate the project
Maybe they would rather be in League 1 with less strict financial rules.
More about the “shouty ice cream salesman” on the Rumours thread.
Shouty ice cream salesman is v matey with Blooms, so you can take that as an authorised broadside against Dan Rice.
Of course it is, as was the one from his brother

Which at best would achieve a pyrrhic victory
If there's any truth to these rumours this is only going to end one way and it won't be the owners who'll be leaving. So that's a nice thought.
Interesting that our data driven recruitment approach seems to favour players who live on MBs route from home to the club/training ground.
You'll be suggesting it's odd he drives a 30 seater next.
That's just an added bonus to wheel half the squad in.
