The ref
But no, obviously Humph
Voted Harvie again. Was tempted with Hartridge just for giggles
Grimmer. Resolute throughout. Humphreys fantastic until he was inexplicably subbed.
Harvie for me, such a key part of the battling rearguard action that nearly came off.
Happy for Humphreys to get it though if that's the popular vote.
He wasn't on long enough for serious MotM consideration, but shout out to Kodua who surely has to start on Tuesday after that cameo today.
Low was a giant at the back as always, especially with 10 men. I went for him
Humphreys, easy, should've stayed on
actually fair shout, Grimmer put in some great interceptions as well.
I thought Leahy had a strong game in the centre of the park - getting stuck in, putting in the important tackles, playing a few nice balls out. But mostly looking commanding and reassuring. Given the enforced changes to the team, that's what we needed today - a captain's performance even without the armband.
Somebody help me to decide, please.
I honestly can’t think of anyone who played as well as we know they can. Someone did say on the match thread that they were surprised by Cameron Humphreys’ substitution. So was I.
Early in the game I was delighted to see that he seemed to have slotted well into the “Morley” role but his quick feet and ability to come away with the ball when confronted by two or three defenders were sorely missed.
Not sure but am I right in thinking that he and Scowen swapped roles later in the game ? That would certainly have made sense.
All those comments have been made whilst I laboured over my cris de coeur.
...and a Hartridge for com-e-deee.
Come on, who voted for him?
Some valuable reminders in those comments and three or four reasonable claims but I’ve decided to go for “Humph”.
I'm not even going to count it in the season total.
And having now seen the percentages I realise that my prevarication was entirely understandable. I also agree with the four leading also rans.
Would’ve gone for Humphreys if he lasted longer - he debatably should’ve.
Went with Josh. Thought he was superb.
Whilst it looks like Cameron Humphreys was substituted as a consequence of Alex Hartridge’s red card and the need to get another centre-back on in Declan Skura, it might have been as a consequence of the head injury Humphreys suffered moments earlier.
Humphreys may well now need to follow concussion protocols, in which case he’ll be unavailable for the Huddersfield Town game on Tuesday.
Very possible, Good to see if Blooms is being careful around potential concussion when the officials couldn't give a toss.
Well Blooms knows better than most from first-hand experience. Football's attitude towards head injuries still leaves a lot to be desired.
He wasn’t checked for concussion though was he?
Bloomfield’s post-match interview also made no mention of concussion merely pointing out: “Cam’s position was one we could do without.”
It depends on what symptoms he experiences over the next 24-48 hours. I guess we’ll find out on Tuesday evening.
Not sure what GMac was supposedly doing that Cam couldn't have done better in that case but wasn't long until he made more subs and will know what he asks from everyone, good news he'll be ok for Tuesday.
Joe Low for me. An absolute colossus who deserved to be on the winning side
I’m not sure where you saw any concussion mate. Slight bump on the head which he rubbed off, he got up without treatment and played on. After the sending off he then was involved in an exchange with the linesman (presumably moaning about how he didn’t flag in his incident) and shortly afterwards was sacrificed by Bloomfield, sitting straight down on the bench. Along with the post-match comments there is no evidence at all of any concussion.
Not sure Matt Bloomfield would necessarily be keen to alert our opponents to the possibility of Humphreys being unavailable.
Also, I recall Matt explaining that he didn’t recognise the symptoms of his concussions immediately and they continued in the days following.
As I said, we’ll know on Tuesday evening.
Did enjoy McCleary clearing multiple footballs off the cones to try and slow down the restarts
I don’t need to wait until Tuesday. I know now. There was definitely no concussion. Players should get seen immediately if slightest risk of concussion. That’s the rules. That wasn’t done. He wasn’t even treated and then wasn’t seen to by anyone medical having been replaced.
All concussions need to be treated seriously but no way was he concussed in any way today. The evidence points to that and your point makes little sense.
To add to this, if he had gone off with concussion, this would need to have been declared to the ref and the other team - which it wasn’t. (There would also have been no reason for Bloomfield to fail to mention this either).
