I'm giving it to Kone, sod the missed pen - two great goals.
Harvie was excellent though and ran him close to my mind.
Great work from Grimmer also, Morley...Humphreys... another game with serious shifts being put in all over the pitch.
Everyone was excellent today. The Captain for me.
Went Kone too, but this is one of those "everyone" games aside from Ravs - just because he did not have much to do.
Kone’s best game for us. Complete performance. Utterly outstanding. Piergianni is incredibly strong and alone made him look feeble. What a performance. Could land us in trouble over January, that!
I know Kone will walk this and Humphreys was also superb with his creativity but I'm going for Grimmer. Brilliant positional awareness, last-gasp tackling, creative ball-playing, speedy overlaps, assured leadership - this has to be one of his most complete performances for us. I know the romantics among the Gasroom think Jasper Pattenden should be our number one right-back - today showed me why Jack Grimmer remains leagues ahead (for the moment).
Gave it to Kone, but special mentions for Humphreys and Grimmer who I thought were superb as well
I agree re Grimmer, I know Jasper is the Gasroom pin up boy atm, but I think I'd probably still have Jack playing above him atm. A good problem to have !
Grimmer had a good game but Kone for the two finishes. A finisher is special.
Kone's performance was superb today, capped with 2 great goals.
Grimmer played a real captains role & showed he still has it (much of that has to be down to how impressive Jasper has been pushing Jack to up his performance).
Rav, Low & Taylor were calmness personified and both the latter 2 displayed their dribbling skills at times as they roamed forward in the second half.
Lubala, Fred, Udoh & GMac all played their part in making us look irresistable going forward & frankly humiliating the Stevenage defence.
Leahy was solid today and this ranks as one his better performances.
Harvie had another stormer & showed why he is so important to our shape & performances.
Humphries did what he does best, playing apparently with the freedom of no fear.
But my man of the match was Morley, today showed how important he is in freeing up the other midfielders to play with freedom, shielding the defence & generally just directing the game, his vision is streets ahead of others at this level & his ability to execute a pass is brilliant. We really must pull out the stops to keep him.
If Kone had scored the 1v1 and penalty we are probably looking at one of the all time best Wycombe performances, no exaggeration.
His two goals were outstanding clinical finishes and he was an absolute nightmare for the Stevenage players to play against all afternoon with his strength, hold up and link play.
Without Kone scoring 2 it'd have been Grimmer without a doubt.
Having a real battle for his starting position, yet came in with one of his best displays of the season.
I went Grimmer.
Luke Leahy for me. Did all the gritty stuff needed to allow the others to play
Grimmer
Kone and Grimmer both outstanding today.
I voted for Jack Grimmer, grew in confidence throughout the game, showed heart throughout the game and by the end was my 'best player on the pitch'.
Kone was outstanding today. Superb finishes, hold-up play, strength and lay-offs to others. He’s taking us up.
Kone was superb today but watching Humphreys play like he does is a joy. He got my vote
He got mine too.
Kone a close second.
The Gasroom halo effect clearly in evidence there !
Kone was immense in far more ways than as a brilliant finisher. Their central defender whose name I’ll not attempt to spell has been one of their best players this season and must have been shell shocked yesterday.
I sincerely hope Morley the Magnificent will soon be signed on a permanent basis. Watching him play is indeed a joy.
Grimmer for me, announced his return to the team with a great performance, joining up with the attack on numerous occasions as well. Was between him and Kone, who also had a great game, and if he had scored from the penalty or the one-on-one with the goalie, would have got my vote. In truth though it was a great team performance.
