Got to expect Everton to crack on from January with the new ownership - they already look better than a team who have only won 3 games. I think Broja will really establish himself there.
Win that they could be 3 points behind them / safety with a game in hand and twenty four games left, doesn't seem so impossible now, a couple of wins can mean so much down their when nobody else is winning consistently.
Shrewsbury definitely need the points on the board. They basically have an awful January, forgiving February, a rough patch late/Feb early March and then a fairly comfortable run in. But with January having about 5 brutal fixtures, getting the points against Northampton feels especially important.
And apparently the Pompey fans were giving him stick all game. Actually, that's the away end, so maybe that's what did it - but still only a yellow at worst, surely?
He was given a yellow card for his little dance and then the red card, suggesting he had already been booked or he got the red for something he said to the ref as he got the yellow for his dance.
Looking ahead to Sunday’’s visit to the Valley, I watched a bit of the recording of Charlton’s match yesterday against Cambridge United.
The goal scored within a minute of kickoff by Tyreece Campbell was farcical. He is seriously quick, no doubt about that, but Cambridge had pushed forward to a ridiculous extent, leaving one defender just in their half. It was a neck and neck 50 yard (?) race between him and Campbell. A few yards from goal the defender made a despairing lunge but Campbell somehow managed to stay on his feet and nutmeg the goalkeeper. The latter didn’t exactly cover himself in glory with the second Charlton goal either, failing to make contact with the ball from a corner in a crowded six yard box.
I was a bit concerned last week when Charlton won 5-0 at Sixfields but Northampton seem to be in free fall.

This City meltdown continues. 1-1 at home to Everton, yet lucky to get that when Everton horribly wasted a 95th min 4 v 2 break.
Such a waste.

Huddersfield winning early, Wrexham losing early.
Shrewsbury up too! Come on GA!
Frank Lampard is beating Wayne Rooney. Teams may be involved, but not sure.
Lampard is doing a decent job there so far, fair play
4-0 at half time, my word.
That's probably the end for Rooney at Plymouth now.
Bloomfield to Plymouth?
Get in GA! Northampton at home next - what a massive game!
Clawing their way to safety GA style!
I hope so! It's still a head v heart situation for me.

Plenty of season left, hopefully plenty of Shrewsbury upsetting the top teams as the season goes on.
Nice to see Notlob drop some more points.
That table doesn't half look more healthy for Shrewsbury. Not bottom and 6 points off safety - and playing that team next!
With our game being a 12.30, might well be worth a watch at 3pm

Over 600 mile round trip!
On holiday?
Watford's Kwadwo Baah got a straight red for this after their win v Portsmouth today 😂 https://x.com/stokeyyg2/status/1872335233548480765?s=46&t=myWszhSAmzNgahQxpYRwXw
Is doing a silly dance really worthy of a red?
It's a Fortnite dance, pretty sure Antoine Griezmann did it in the literal World Cup final

Wonder if the Leicester game will finish, unusual these days to not be able to see the close ups clearly let alone the game.
It's definitely got worse since kick-off
Falmouth - Mousehole derby at level eight attracts four figure crowd. Amazing our love for football in this country.
Huge win for Shrewsbury today. How lucky they are to have Gaz as manager

Not a single draw in the division yesterday. And Shrewsbury were the only team from 15th down (as of full time) who won.
