The public school system should be taxed at a level that realistically reflects the costs to the rest of the education structure in this country. Charitable status should be removed. Teachers educated in our university / college system who choose to work in the public school system should be taxed at an appropriately high level.
I'd love a town centre stadium but, unless we can build it in top of the Eden Centre Car Park, it there just isn't anywhere available.
Neither the Rye or Wycombe Abbey are remotely possible however fanciful we might like to be.
Therefore, the reality is Adams Park - it's already built, if in need of some TLC - or somewhere else also out of town. Whatever happened to the site next to the A404 at Marlow? Do they have planning for the film studio village in that area?
How about back to Loakes Park? That hospital must be riddled with RAAC, so probably fairly easy to knock over.
It could be replaced by one of the 40 new hospitals being built on the site of Adams Park. In return, the new ground would be called the BakerDome as a thank you for the support of our much loved MP.
In the meantime, we could either ground share with QPR or all the hospital patients could be put in a field hospital on The Rye, with tents manufactured by Lady Mone’s bra factory.
From a personal standpoint it would be fine if things stayed as they are . I’m excited about the changes Matt is making to the team, and I can afford the season ticket price, even the walk up to the stadium is probably doing me good, yes fewer Tuesday night games please but I’m lucky and old .
I’m aware however that just getting me through the turnstile isn’t enough and there seems to be a ceiling to the number of people that are willing to do the fifteen minute pilgrimage to AP and that number is short of sustainable.
Sure, perhaps the private schools could share their advice, I'm thinking magical pearls of wisdom such as: Why don't you fix all that stuff that's broken, employ more staff, buy better kit and target your marketing to avoid having to teach the kids who actually need support.
Oh my goodness!!! Not long ago we would have all been content with a high league 2 finish... Happy if our seasons average attendance hovered anywhere near 5000.
Now with one season in the championship to our name and a couple of good runs in league one.... the smallest of outside chances that we may end up sold to a multi billionaire.... and look at us!!!
We are comparing ourselves to Luton and Bournemouth.... we have in our heads re-jigged the town center to fit in our new 15-20k capacity stadium at the cost of the rye, Wycombe Abbey... maybe morrisons....
As long as its not like the one in space, bloody hardest track by miles that one ! The amount of times I'd be in the lead on the last lap but came off and fell into space !! Came very close to smashing the TV

(Sorry… where’s my medication…)
Part of the reason Wycombe Abbey gets charitable status is that they allow the local peasants in to look at their WW2 bunker. Britain...

@drcongo my understand is that it’s hard to get a train anywhere in the UK these days.
it’s about a two hour drive from Bournemouth to Stamford Bridge, so a bit further than I thought.
Isn't that where our new training ground is meant to be going?

So change it is I guess .
Surely the state school system should aspire to the private school standard.

Good grief
What happened to all those Nightingale Hospitals they constructed for Covid and never used?
Weren't they just big tents?
All right, what happened to the big tents! They supposedly cost half a billion pounds so should be waterproof!
I say we acquire said tents, erect a couple somewhere convenient (in the grounds of Wycombe Abbey, say) and then call it our home stadium.
A great legacy for the Nightingale hospitals and we'd have the first fully covered stadium in the league.
They've all been converted into bras

What have we become!!!???? Hahaha!!
Well, they are building an indoor karting track in what was House of Fraser, so you never know...
If this is true I hope they leave all the escalators in place so its like the "shopping mall" level on Mario kart 😅
Evil keneivel style jumps are a transport method that hasn't been explored.
Primark on the ground floor, karting above it, so I've been told by someone working on the refit. As you do...
With the Spinning Shells and Mushroom power-ups?
What karting company is taking that on? Or is it a start up company?
Not a fan of the Nightingale idea. It's a recipe for hospital passes.

Rainbow road?
Yep, that's the one !
Never could beat the kids on that bloody level. Most annoying.
My favourite is the "autumn" course. I could live in that one!
It seems like we need to have a go karting social when it opens!
I still think we should have a bobsleigh run down the hill overlooking AP
