Interesting to see what happens with Mehmeti. If he keeps up this form there will surely be offers on the table in January. We shouldn’t be letting him got for less than £1m
Failure to adapt to the sending off? Complacent? We played 94 minutes with ten men against a team who are unbeaten at home and very nearly snatched a win at the end. How is that failing to adapt and being complacent?
I think Twine went to Burnley for £4m. If Mehmeti continues this goals output over the course of the season, I don't see why he should command a similar fee.
With 2 seasons left on Mehmeti's deal, someone will need to pay fairly big.
We're a lot better at sales than the days we'd dish out "England clauses" for players who then picked Scotland, or allow clauses to be bought out 2 days before they were sold.
I don’t understand your post. It was 11 v 11 for a few minutes and as I have said Fleetwood have lost just one game this season and they’re undefeated at home.
Hopefully we can have Vokes back with Mehmeti next week. Just 4 points off a play-off place as @glasshalffull mentioned earlier. Taf back Vokes hopefully on the verge and Mehmeti on fire. Mawson and Taf looking brilliant together, we have good times ahead. COYB!!!!!
We put Mehmeti upfront but mostly failed to get the ball through to him effectively. I would have liked to have seen either a striker come on but as that wasn't possible (because we didn't have the quality/fitness on the bench to enable us to do that) I would have liked to see Horgan brought on to feed Mehmeti better. The best form of defence, after all, is often attack. Fleetwood weren't complacent - they'd made four subs by sixty minutes. Even then they looked pretty toothless in attack - we could've won that match if we'd tweaked the formation earlier through a quicker switch to wingbacks or by feeding Mehmeti better.
Then why ask me the question, Alan? I must say your recent belligerence and cantankerousness does not become you. It's more toddler than elder statesman. Not everyone agrees with you; this is a discussion forum. Perhaps you might try to be a bit more civil?
Really struggling to understand some of the gloom on here this evening. We've gone from being a team who conceded 6 goals in the first two away games of the season, and never looked like getting anything from either to a team who (to my eyes) look like they are going to be very difficult to beat this season. Mawson and Stryek have been excellent additions, get Vokes back and we're a serious proposition for anyone.
Yes, GMac was foolish, and yes it would have been nice to win having been leading. But a point away from home when you're down to 10 for 80 minutes is a proper acheivement, and typical of an Ainsworth team. These are also the sorts of results that bring a squad together, when you fight through some adverstity and earn a well deserved draw.
We've been a bit unlucky with injuries, which I'm sure is a consequence of having finished last season later than anyone else and beginning this one in July. But I still think we're a strong team in this league, and we've got the best management going.
Just got in and saw the result. Shame about the sending off and conceding...but a draw is not a loss given the circumstances. Always a difficult one for the Losers Glee Club when honours are even...but nice to see @trevor got an outing.

Possibly in the context of 11 v 11 it’s points dropped.

We should be holding out for at least £3m. Should be easier to ride out January than in previous years too as we don't need the money.

What’s the benchmark? I don’t follow lower league transfers enough to know how much players go for now

If we play 11 players for the whole game I think we win that. Yes we were 11 v 11 for 9 minutes.
My Port Vale XI (if Obita fit and Vokes able to go the 90, both of which may be doubtful):
Stryjek
McCarthy
Tafazolli
Mawson
Obita
Scowen
Gape
Freeman
Horgan
Mehmeti
Vokes
That was nearly a classic away win under siege. Unfortunately Ainsworth then brought on Al Hamadi
Agree Horgan over Wing
Disagree McCarthy over Grimmer
Obviously a brilliant point with ten men. Celebrated final whistle like a goal.
When we gain 6th again by one point people will be singing folk songs about the Siege of Highbury
Hanlan if fit would have been the ideal sub to come on with 10 men in the second half. Quick, strong , can run the channels.
Maybe there is an unattached striker, who we could possibly bring in, to accompany Vokes.
I agree, so please mark my words.

And the most experienced in the starting XI. He'll need to really put in the effort on his return to make up for this
What was Max (keeper) booked for??
He misses 3 league games.
The game after that is the Checkatrade game away at Stevenage. That seems a perfect mix of punishment and chance to get back in to rhythm.
@aloysius Equally, we could’ve lost it.
As always, I’ll take Gareth’s judgement above yours any day.
I would prefer to trust the combined knowledge and experience of GA and Dobbo over your tactical master class assisted by the benefit of hindsight.
Can’t believe some of the comments. If you ever played football yourself, you would realise how much harder it is to play 10 against 11.
It was attack v defence and our defence were excellent.
Disappointing from Garath but we got on with the job in a very professional manner.
Well said.

I am always civil to posters whose opinions I respect whether or not I agree with them.

How does one 'mark words'?
Is like 'out of ten' or 'underlined?
@micra ?
