Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
The most viable rumour on here was that we'd approached the FA to speak to a member of their team. I can imagine that negotiation might take some time given they're likely to be in a stable, well-remunerated job and will see moving to WWFC as a risk, though one with potentially high reward if they take us up and then do better than expected next season. I can also see our leadership team being willing to wait a while for the right person, given a high profile appointment will really show the new regime in a positive light and even possibly garner international attention. That's why I've always thought Ashley Cole a realistic target. Young coach with huge profile and a strong track record of developing youth, someone capable of working in a modern management structure and someone highly regarded in the game.
Re: Birmingham game moved
I’d like a day out at Wembley for the cup semis as well as promotion please.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
I know they probably don't care very much about fan reaction, but they are in bit of a tricky position as they aren't looking for someone to come in, stop the rot and get us up the table, but someone who can come in with us in pole position and not bollox up a promotion. The Sams keeping us in the running adds to the dilemma...as they are not just a make weight option hanging on in there...so it could reflect badly on the management group (even with Lommy) if they unveil their choice and then we fall away.
I bet in a way this is a bit more challenging for DR than working for the big lads. Which he might enjoy!
(Given the Vokes interview I don't think we will struggle...but a new coach would need to harness the spirit we are presently showing at least until the summer.)
Re: Hanlan loaned to Stevenage
The ludicrous thing with that incident was that Stevenage got the free kick!
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
It'd be interesting to hear what the flavour of thinking is.
Was a new manager already lined up - then pulled out.
Was a new manager in mind - but they didn't realise he didn't want to come.
Did we buy these expensive Danish fellas for a particular manager, before 1 of the 2 scenarios above
Or were they actually surprised Bloomy went when he did and they're scrabbling around for a plan?
Or is it all fine and we've got loads of options
Re: Hanlan loaned to Stevenage
I was going to say he won't come across him in games now. But then he'll be risking getting smashed in training
Re: Hanlan loaned to Stevenage
In fairness, if he manages to lose us 30 points and finish below Stevenage I'll have to have a word with him.
