Re: Man of the Match - Mansfield (A)
Until Sadlier returns I would like to see Kodua on the right and Onyedinma on the left of the front three. On their day they are both more than capable of terrorising defenders with their pace and, particularly in Kodua’s case, trickery.
Re: Match Day Thread: Mansfield
If I had to choose a Hanna-Barbera character to represent this game, I'd choose Scrappy Doo
Re: New Manager Vote
Some guy on the Gasroom was in the pub with someone who’s brother’s mate knows Des Buckingham’s best mate? Reminds me of the list of people with clearance for Operation Winkle.
Re: Match Day Thread: Mansfield
Did anyone see the hairdryer treatment Sonny gave Skura after Mansfield equalised? I’m sure Dec will come away from this tough game a much better player than when he came on, having Sonny as a team mate and a leader, money cannot buy.
Re: Match Day Thread: Mansfield
I keep marveling at what a fine win that was, and a quality game too (credit to Mansfield). To do it in the context of the week we have had is just incredible.
Put it this way: Blooms came in after an amiable departure as the heir apparent when the team was flying, and we still put in an uneven performance with a loss away to Shrewsbury. Today we went into the game with less momentum, a more difficult opposition, and a contentious week...and put in a brilliant display.
I think one of my main emotions today is relief that we can get back to (mostly) focusing on the players!
Re: Other Football
Just seen Nnamdi's goal for Swindon. Absolute belter. So pleased for him to be back playing again.
Re: New Manager Vote
I spoke to an ITK in a pub in Mansfield today who told us that his brother is good mates with Des Buckingham's best mate in Bicester. Apparently Des was at Adams Park this week for an interview. Take that with a pinch of salt
Re: Match Day Thread: Mansfield
Chequers - needed to make a pit stop and knew I could count on them to have Soccer Saturday on!
Re: Match Day Thread: Mansfield
Always nice to win when not playing your best and we were not at our high standards of earlier in the season. We created so many good chances but equally they fluffed their lines in front of goal far too often.
Kone continues to impress. Misses a shot by a mile and there’s no sign his confidence is impacted. The penalty was interesting as players pushed him to take it - literally.
Declan will get such a schooling playing alongside Sunny and he improved as the game went on. Attacking headers bravely as they pushed and pushed.
All in all a good day at the office. Saturday will be again massive after we see the impact of Wrexham v Birmingham. A chance to have a huge gap or a chance to go top?
Re: Other Football
Results at the top of L1 certainly went out way today & long may they all stutter...
