Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
I am pretty bemused by the reaction to yesterday.
Yes,it was a game we should have won. That’s not a new a Phenomenon.
Yea, the performance should have been “better”(whatever better means). That’s not a new phenomenon. Northampton have the right to fight for a point, or all three.
I think a number of people have come to the realisation that they should have had in May/June and have been, until recent events, in denial and they are only now going through Anger off the back of one average result.
The next managerial appointment is going to be key though.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
News Flash. We aren’t and weren’t looking to have a manager.
It would be completely barmy to offer your manager a new manager contract if you are moving to a head coach approach.
One man isn’t bigger than the club. Even if his name is Matt Bloomfield. Or even Dan Rice.
ML probably is though. Which is probably why he keeps his distance and has people to run his club.
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
Not only that, but we're actually in a better position now than we were before this week's round of fixtures.
Not sure a few on here have what it takes for a race for promotion. Plenty of ups and downs still to come
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Sounds like fairly normal succession planning to me.
Manager linked with Hull, Millwall, Coventry etc etc etc throughout November and December and finally takes a job with Luton in January - it would be remiss, neigh negligent, if you were the sports director/CEO/fuhrer of said Football club if you didn’t go out to the market and look at viable alternatives.
In the new Black and white world of the Gasroom, that’s evidence of plotting behind Matt’s back and that they never really wanted him anyway.
Am I doing the Anti-Rice thing correct now?
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Clubs like Brighton are always sounding out potential future managers, even when their current one is doing so well. It's how they've been so consistently successful.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
So we had a new manager lined up for months but he wasn't actually lined up because he doesn't want to come.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Doesn't really tie up with
"Rasmus Bertelsen has Randers blood in his veins, and a few months ago he extended his contract until 2028"
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Au contraire mon ami. However informal the approach from Wycombe may have been it might conceivably have been a factor in Randers’ decision to extend Rasmus’s contract. Doesn’t that make good business sense?
